We, the undersigned, request that you direct the Department of Homeless Services to stop the process leading to a Request for Proposals to bid on the faith-based Emergency Shelter Network, and meet with the Partnership for the Homeless and members of the faith community to develop cost-cutting measures that will allow the faith community to continue to provide much needed shelter in the absence of affordable housing.

When you're cold and hungry and need some ccomfort and a roof over your head for the night then I don't understand why there is an issue here ... I don't care if the persons running a shelter ,is a priest or a biker or an athiest as long as the job gets done, it's up to all of us to insure that our politicians do right by us and that includes the homeless and struggling ...
