SAVE THE PRZEWALSKI'S HORSE

  • recipient: help prevent the Przewalski's horse from extinction and gain back their natural habitat
The Przewalski's horse is regarded as the only remaining truly wild horse in the world. It was once thought to be extinct, but since 2008 it has been classified as "critically endangered" on the IUCN Red List. There are only around 1500 of these majestic horses in captivity and approx. 250 in the wild. Their greatest threats today include a loss of genetic diversity and their extinction in the wild which has also been brought on by hunting, loss of habitat and loss of water sources to domestic horses. They may also be the closest living wild relative of the domestic horse. Many preservation efforts have been taken towards these beautiful horses, but we all should continue creating awareness so that the Przewalski's Horse may be out of danger and live a happy life in the wild.
We the undersigned kindly request for action and awareness to be brought upon the beautiful yet endangered Przewalski's horse. We would like for these animals to breed in the wild, where they are meant to be. These amazing horses are not meant for captivity, to be hunted or to be taken away from their natural habitat. We politely, but eagerly ask for you to offer your help to the Przewalski's horse.
Thank You for taking the time to read our letter.
