Save the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society!

This organization is slated to close on December 31st, 2011, due to extreme financial shortfalls.
Currently, the Humane Society is not receiving ANY government funding.
In the last year alone, this no-kill Humane Society has taken in 365 animals and successfully re-homed 360!
Thunder Bay has a population of over 100,000 people; an urban centre that requires a humane society, and if this organization closes, there is none to fill its place. The Thunder Bay and District Humane Society provides rescue, shelter, animal cruelty investigation, and adoption services. Please visit the organization's website, and read their press release for further information: http://tbayhumane.ca/Please forward the adjoining letter to: abuonaiuto@ospca.on.ca ; khobbs@thunderbay.camgravelle.mpp.co@liberal.ola.org
We the undersigned,Believe that Thunder Bay requires the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society in order to protect, rescue, shelter and re-home hundreds of abandoned, neglected, abused and stray animals per year.We believe that the Humane Society plays a crucial role in rescuing and re-homing hundreds of animals per year since its beginning 14 years ago, and that its successes must be recognized and honoured by allowing them the chance to continue. We believe that it is a governmental responsibility, both at the municipal and provincial level, to financially support this organization due to the important services it provides. We believe that this organization's financial crisis must be addressed, in order to prevent the ensuing animal crisis that would ensue without the Humane Society's services.Thank you for considering the lives of countless animals by receiving and reading this letter and petition.
