Save the Vivo Patio

Vivo Manor has been in a legal tussle with the city for the last year over our parking issue. They feel we should have more spaces available and are threatening to have us take down all of our patios in order to provide the missing spaces.  This would be crippling to our business and could potentially cause us to close our doors. We are asking everyone to sign and forward this petition on to any regulars, fans, family, locals, etc. and ask them to please do the same.

Our final court date is May 25th. We are in a dire situation. We are hoping to show that we give back to the community, offer employment to people who live in our direct surrounding area, and are an important part of the Austin community and restaurant scene. Please forward this on to whomever you think would write a letter for our cause. Even if they do not live here, it would help to show that we are popular with out of towners as well! Below are the necessary contacts as well as some ideas from our lawyers. Thanks so much for  your time. Again the final court date is May 25th so please please act quickly!

We the undersigned are writing you in reference to the upcoming decision on May 25 regarding the parking and patio situation at Vivo.
Vivo is a unique and vital part of a growing East Austin community, a locally grown business that helps Austin maintain diversity by not only drawing people from all over town to a newly integrated part of our city but also by becoming a staple for those in the neighborhood.
One of the true beauties of this neighborhood and Austin as a whole is the relaxing atmosphere of the Vivo patio. It is a joy to dine, drink, and work in such a slice of tropical paradise in the hot Texas summers. Not only would it be a great loss for Austin if it was torn down, but without the patio it is unlikely Vivo would be able to remain open. This would put dozens of hardworking people out of work and diminish the beauty and diversity of our East Austin neighborhood. It would be unfortunate for the City to force a local restaurant out of business by not being willing to grant the same consideration that has been given to others in the past.

In closing, we respectfully request that the City of Austin save Vivo by assisting us in maintaining the restaurant, patio, and parking facility in their current state, and that any necessary variances to maintain the property in its current state be granted. Thank you for your time and consideration.
