This Kangaroo is being kept by a woman that is making his life miserable. As you read the words below she states that she snuggles with him and she dresses him in clothes and feeds him junk food, this poor kangaroo has brain damage and is paralyzed, he has no choice on what she does to him, his life is miserable and has to been taken from this woman..please help me with this petition to have this poor Australian icon removed from her immediately.
WITH a wardrobe full of designer suits, a cupboard packed with treats and a car booster seat, Irwin the kangaroo is not your average household pet.
To his American owner Christie Carr he's more like a child, worthy of 24/7 care and snacks of cheese puffs and popcorn.
The 15-month-old red kangaroo was paralysed after suffering a broken neck and brain damage in a wildlife sanctuary accident a year ago.
Since then Mrs Carr has devoted her life to Irwin - named after wildlife crusader Steve Irwin - taking him everywhere she goes.
He even rides in the back of the car, watching life whiz by from a child's booster seat specially modified to fit his tail.
But little Irwin's days as a resident in the city of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, could be numbered. The city council last month deemed Irwin to be an exotic pet that Mrs Carr was not allowed to keep.
Mrs Carr, 39, said yesterday her beloved boy would die if taken from her care.
Among their outings, they regularly visit nursing homes, Irwin dressed in tailor-made suits.
"He really enjoys going on his visits. That is his calling," she said.
"He snuggles them, he kisses them and he gets very excited."
Not only that - Mrs Carr said Irwin had helped her recover from a serious bout of depression.
"He's my therapy," she said.
But wildlife experts say dressing a paralysed animal and treating him as human was "totally inappropriate".
Australian Reptile Park macropod expert Tim Faulkner said Irwin's quality of life needed to be the No. 1 priority.
Broken Arrow Council is to debate the issue today.
