Keep German at Fulton Schools

The Fulton City School District is considering terminating the German program in the district (both Junior High and High School)  following the 2008-2009 school year due to recent budget cuts.  The German language is not only one of the most influential languages in our American history, but it is also one of the most important business and science-related language today.  In addition, it is the most recommended foreign language to be able to speak and study at colleges and universities.
This decission will affect over 150 current students who will beleft with out German next year, not to mention the students comming into 7th grade who would like to take German.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens and students of German who urge the administration and Board of Education to act now to keep German in the Fulton City School District.  We ask them to sustain the German program for the many students who wish to take part in it.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens and students of German who urge the administration and Board of Education to act now and keep German in the Fulton City School District.  We ask them to sustain the successful German program for the many students who wish to partake in it.  We ask them to allow the future engineers, hotel managers, scientists, international business woman and men, architechts, bankers, environmental engineers, green technology workers, inventors, and many more occupations who require German Language knowledge and ability  to be able to learn the language early that will be required of their college degree.  We ask them to let us learn the language that is spoken by more people in the European Union than any other.  We ask you to keep German because it is the class that we love and enjoy and the reason we come to school for.  We ask you to let others experience the joy we have in learning German.  We ask you to keep German so that we may learn the language of our Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.  We ask you to keep German because it is a part of us.
Thank you for your consideration.
