The Community Care program through the VA hospital is proposing a reduction of "companion care" hours from 28 hours a week to 21 and a reduction of their 'respite days' from 60 to 30 a year. These hours are critical to our homebound vetrerans, this allows them to have house work, meals, grooming, shower assitance etc, it also allows them to have 8 hour days when needed to be accompainied on appointments and outings. Our Veteran's deserve thes hours to function at their optimal level.
