Stop the North Utah Valley Animal Shelter from Selling Animals for Deadly Medical Testing!

Thanks to a recent undercover investigation in which PETA revealed that the University of Utah (the U) had bought more than 100 homeless animals from animal shelters and subjected them to invasive, painful, and deadly experiments, a law was passed so that shelters in Utah are no longer required to turn animals over to laboratories. There is now only one animal shelter in the entire state, the North Utah Valley Animal Shelter (NUVAS) that voluntarily continues to betray homeless dogs and cats by selling them to the U. The NUVAS is signing the torture-followed-by-death warrant for animals it hands over, as most are likely to suffer in the sort of archaic experiments documented by PETA's undercover investigator.

We are dismayed to learn that although every other animal shelter in the state has ended the shameful practice the North Utah Valley Animal Shelter continues to betray the animals it is charged with protecting by selling them to the University of Utah for cruel and deadly experiments.

Taxpayers support animal shelters in the hope that the facilities will help alleviate animal suffering in this world, not contribute to it by treating homeless dogs and cats as cheap laboratory equipment for animal experimenters. We urge the North Utah County Animal Shelter to immediately stop violating the trust of Utah taxpayers and animals and to make the shelter stop releasing dogs and cats to the University of Utah.

Please sign the petition to show that you care what happens to the animals at the North Utah Valley Animal Shelter!
