Boycott FOX if they do not strike a deal to allow Watchmen to be released.
Due to an error in judgement at WB, FOX has filed suit claiming they own the rights to Watchmen. In turn, a judge has agreed. The problem is, FOX intentionally and did with malice of foresight, wait until not only had the film been completed, a release date had been set, but also until the advertising blitz had already been set in motion. In doing so, they have intentionally cost their competitors at WB millions of dollars. This is a shady practice to say the least. Worse, still, is that FOX is now stating that they do not want a monetary settlement, but, rather, will seek an injunction against the film, thus making it illegal for WB to distribute it. Comic book fans fave been waiting for this film for over twenty years, in which time, FOX has made no effort to do anything with the project. As such, it appears that they would rather see this film dead on a shelf than to strike a profit sharing deal on a film that is guaranteed to make hundrend of millions of dollars. FOX duly deserves a good cut of the profits, but instead will try to shelf a movie that it admittedly has no plans of producing on it's own any time in the near future. I hereby ask you for your signature to let FOX know that you are not happy with them and will boycot any future FOX projects if they refuse to strike a fair and reasonable deal to allow this movie to go ahead as scheduled. Let your voice be heard and let us send a message to FOX that we as fans will not suppor6t this type of unscrupulous behavior from a company that has nothing to lose and everything to gain from allowing Watchmen to be released.
We the undersigned would like to dutifully inform you of our displeasure with your treatment of the issue of the WB film Watchmen. We hereby feel that your untimely decision to file suit and further seek injunction to stop the film altogether are to be deemed unscrupulous and shady at best. We all agree that you deserve a good percentage of the films gross, as you are the legitimate property owner of said project. However, if you do not agree to at least try to negotiate a settlement in this regard, we, as loyal TV and movie watchers hereby agree that a boycot of all future FOX projects and entities shall be our only recourse. As many of us are loyal FOX viewers, it is with sadness in our hearts that we must do so. We, as fans, feel that you are being unfair, not only to WB studios, but, also to us as fans whom have waited over twenty years to see this film brought into production. We all hereby feel that it would be in the best interests of FOX entertainment, its advertisers, its stock holders, and its board of directors to work in a fair and open way to remedy this without delay.
Respectfully,
