SAVE LOLITA THE ORCA AT THE MIAMI SEAQUARIUM! SHE IS SUFFERING!

FREE LOLITA AT THE MIAMI SEAQUARIUM!

Target:
Miami Seaquarium
We feel the need to start a petition to free Lolita from the Miami Seaquarium in Miami, FL.  The whale is in horrible conditions at the park, and it's quite disgusting to look at.  Lolita shares a tank with dolphins, and also performs with them as well.  That itself is just so wrong! She also swims in chlorinated water, and it seems to me like her tank is like a fishbowl to her, which is also SO wrong! In September of 2003 Miami-Dade County City building inspectors at the Miami Seaquarium closed the Whale Stadium and three other exhibits because of numerous safety violations. The life-safety issues include exposed electrical wiring, crumbling concrete and loose, corroded guardrails on stairways and viewing decks such as the bridge over the shark moat. Inspectors found exposed wires everywhere, open electrical boxes, light posts with bad wiring. Notably disturbing was the state of many of the handrails and guardrails that protect people from falling into fish tanks or tumbling down stairs. The anchors on some, such as at the reef tank, were so corroded they were completely gone and would not hold up if anyone leaned against them.  More people need to know about what condition these dolphins are living in, so they can stop paying to go see a show.

If this is how the park's visitors and employees are being treated, what can we expect for the Orca? Information from reliable sources have described Lolita between shows as languishing, listless in her undersized chlorinated tank. Can it be true that the Seaquarium is giving Lolita Prozac for fear that their star attraction will succumb to the stresses of her lonely life? The Miami Seaquarium has refused to release her medical records which should be open to public scrutiny. Watched carefully and concerned with her survival, many have taken the cause of freeing Lolita into their hearts.
The people of Miami Sequarium only care about money.  They don't care that Lolita is lonely, and is suffering in the state that she is living in.  This has gone for WAY to long.  Help her, NOW!

Let Lolita go back to her family near Puget Sound in Washington. We know its possible to release her, Keiko from Free Willy was successfully released and is doing wonderfully in the wild. She shouldn't be forced to work endlessly for her food.

Her pool is too small and the park itself is outrageously shabby. The park should be shut down, but first their main attraction must be freed from her goldfish bowl. Free Lolita!

Lolita needs to be freed from her horrible captive life. She deserves so much better than that miserable place. We need to keep fighting for her freedom. Her owner will never let his money machine go voluntarily, so we need to make him! She will do great back in Puget Sound. www.slavetoentertainment.com

It is long past time for Lolita to be freed. As a past resident of Miami who remembers how Hugo died banging his head against the wall of this still too small tank, this action needs to be taken. One cannot correct the past, but one can prevent it from re-occurring.

If people did not go to such places, then there would be no captive sea animals. Instead, ignorant people unknowingly pay money to see such animals and therefore further prolong the suffering for these animals by being confined to a bowl of fithy water.
