S.C Needs John Spratt To Support Public Option

Target:
South Carolina Citizens
Sponsored by:
The World Health Organization ranks the United States as 37th in quality healthcare, sandwiched between Costa Rica and Slovenia, yet the U.S. spends more money on healthcare than any country in the world.  France is number 1 for quality healthcare followed by Italy, San Marino, Andorra, Malta, Singapore, and Spain.  What do these countries have in common regarding healthcare?  They all have Universal Healthcare and they are not Socialist Governments.

60% of the bankruptcies in the U.S. are due to medical expenses.  In Switzerland, Germany, France, and Britain the number of bankruptcies due to medical expenses is zero!

The Insurance companies have had 40 years to build a decent healthcare system and they have failed miserably.  They've had their chance.  The time for dithering is over.  Tell Congressman John Spratt we need a comprehensive healthcare system with a public option NOW!!!

We the undersigned urge Congressman Spratt to support a healthcare plan that includes a Public Option.  We demand the right to choose our healthcare providers.  We are on the verge of passing healthcare reform that would end the disparities between wealthy and lower income citizens.

I want choice, and I am sick and tired of the GOP having a choice while I have none.

Congressman Spratt, Unlike the citizens of the world's other progressive countries, the people in the United States -including our state of SC- suffer from inadequate access to a basic human right: health care. I am writing in support of a robust public option. As a lifelong and loyal democrat, I take the following statement seriously: this issue is so important it will be the determining factor as to whether I vote for you or other democrats in the future. It is imperative you support a public option.
