Re: Seatbelts on School Buses
Children should be required to wear seatbelts on every school bus across the U.S. I wrote to the government regarding that children on buses are not safe without seatbelts and when I received a letter back I was told that they are protected by the high seats on the buses. While high seats give children a little protection in an accident, seatbelts will give them a lot more protection. Children have been killed in school bus accidents here in the U.S. Just like you are driving in your car, the high seat will give you a little protection but not much. It is necessary to have seatbelts in private vehicles to save lives and it is also necessary to have children wear them on school buses to protect the childrens lives. Children deserve the same safety in a school bus that they get in a private vehicle. These are children and as adults we are supposed to protect them.
