Shelters need to be made near the Fukushima Nuclear Power Boarder Plant !

HELP, HELP, HELP!!!!

URGENT!!!!

Fukushima Pref. government office has already announced that they will not set up shelters for the rescued animals.
And the Ministry of Environment has also announced that no animal rescue activities will be permitted within the area of 20km from Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant, not permitted even for the Veterinary Association (and any animal rescue organizations either, of course). Once the Government start leasing the land property of the residents in the area animal rescue activities will be a "crime".

Currently those who are doing animal rescue are not arrested - just being reprimanded and asked to write a letter of apology.
But they will be arrested sooner or later. Many people in the disaster-stricken area who evacuated are asking for animal rescue, and they now strongly feel uneasy that their pets left behind might be "killed". Actually animals left behind are being starved to death - their lives are just like a candle in the wind, and it is most urgent matter to rescue them.

It was strongly requested that if relocating the animals out of the area in question is difficult, shelters should be made near the boarder of the area to make it much easier to feed them and supply them with water. This is Mr. Yamane's (Chairman of Japan Veterinary Association) suggestion.

We need your help! The government of Japan has taken a position to not rescue the animals that were left behind after the tragic earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on March 11, 2011. This entails an area of 20km from the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant.

These animals are obviously suffering from lack of food, water and shelter. We must act now before all of these poor creatures will perish.

We have written a petition to send to the Japanese Embassy in Washington DC to voice our protest to this terrible decision. We need your help to sign this petition and to circulate it to others. Time is of the essence!

Thank you and God bless!

Dear Sirs/Madams:

We, the under signed, protest your government’s decision not to rescue the animals that were in the 20km area of the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant after the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami. While we certainly sympathize with the people of Japan’s pain and suffering caused by this tragic event, we cannot condone your lack of concern for all living creatures.

We urge you to reconsider your country’s decision and take immediate steps to help and rescue the animals in this area.

It was strongly requested that if relocating the animals out of the area in question is difficult, shelters should be made near the boarder of the area to make it much easier to feed them and supply them with water. This is Mr. Yamane's (Chairman of Japan Veterinary Association) suggestion.

Time is critical for these starving creatures.
