Show him a Red Card

On the 22nd October 2008 Robert Delany was the innocent victim of a vicious gun attack at his home in Tallaght where he lived with his partner and two young children. As a result of the attack Robert has been left in a permanent vegetative state and will remain in hospital for the rest of his life.

The Gardai have repeatedly stated that Robert was totally innocent and had no involvement in crime. Robert worked as a postman in Dublin. Robert was singled out for attack as a result of going to the aid of a person who was being assaulted.

A meeting was held in 2008, attended by 200 people and all public representatives from Tallaght at which the Delany Family launched the Justice for Robert Delany Campaign. The Campaign has received extensive coverage in the media and has received support from all the political parties.

The purpose of the Campaign is to highlight Roberts case and to bring to justice those who organised the attack and those who carried out the attack on him.

The Delany Family appreciate all the support received to date from the public, the media, political parties and the Gardai.

Two articles were published recently in the Evening Herald and the Sunday World concerning Roberts case, which can be read on the Facebook Page Bluebell United, Show him a Red Card. As such, we are asking people to register their protest at the appointment of this individual with Bluebell United by signing the petition and posting a message of support on this page.
