Antiabortion-rights group Operation Rescue has launched a new website, abortiondocs.org, which lists names, addresses, photographs, and other personal documents of individual abortion providers throughout the United States.
Publicizing this personal information poses a safety risk for abortion providers, as antiabortion-rights activists who believe in the use of violence can now use the website as a tool for stalking doctors. For instance, in 2009, abortion provider George Tiller was murdered by Scott Roeder, who used Operation Rescue to help follow Tiller's court appearances and learn where he attended church.
In addition to endangering doctors, the new Operation Rescue website may also be in violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, under which online "hit lists" of abortion providers are considered illegal threats.
Sign now to call on Operation Rescue to protect the lives of abortion providers by shutting down the website that lists their personal information.
