Baby Riley needs an Extreme Home Makeover. Riley has Heterotaxy Syndrome which means he has a severely deformed heart, no spleen and his abdominal organs are reversed. Riley's condition which has been grave since birth has gotten progressively worse and as of November 2, 2009 he was listed for a heart/Lung transplant.
Riley's Mommy and Daddy have gone from a two income family to a one income family with out any reduction in their monthly expenses. They also have the addition of Riley to the family who requires constant care.
They have only a small 750 Sq Ft. two bedroom home which prior to learning of Riley's condition they were going to sell to purchase a bigger home. This option is no longer available since Mommy needs to be home with Riley and can't work for the foreseeable future. Riley now needs to keep oxygen on hand which means they have tanks in the living room. Their small kitchen is packed with Meds and medical equipment. When he gets his transplant he will need a home with a better filtration system to help fight infections since he will be more prone to infection.
Riley needs to live in a house that will let him be himself. He needs his own room, his mommy and daddy need their own room, too.
Riley also needs a house that will allow him to breath without any challenges.
Riley's mommy needs to feel comfortable placing him in a bedroom alone. She can't do that now. The second bedroom has his older brother, Christian, living in it. Christian is a very active, adorable 10 year old who has his own issues.
Riley's mommy and daddy need to feel the comfort of Riley being healthy in his own room. Where he can breath "his" normal and let his little heart work the only way it can!
Thank you for your support.
