Awareness for the right to smokefree air in bars and music venues in Florida

smoke-free bars and music venues in sarasota, FL

Target:
bars and venues for bands and DJ's in Florida
I would like to see smoke-free bars and music venues in Florida.  It took us 8 years to get clean air in the restaurants and now it's time to clean up the bars and other public access places.  Lung cancer is the #1 killer of both men and women in the USA and as long as it has assistance reaching folks through SECOND HAND SMOKE - it will continue to thrive.  My fiancee and I are both sensitive to smoke - he has asthma and a condition where his CO proliferates  (cigarette smoke is loaded with carbon monoxide) and he barely has enough oxygen to stay conscious.  I get headaches for 2-3 days and sometimes a nosebleed after exposure to cigarettes and it's quite unpleasant to deal with. When are they gonna protect us against noxious carcinogens?  I work in a wellness clinic and work hard and deserve the right to go out and enjoy some music and entertainment.  My son is a guitarist in a local band and I can't even go see him perform!!!  Cigarettes are addictive cancer-causing agents so why does our government allow them to exist?  Population control or GREED for the revenues they bring in.  I think the numbers are in that the healthcare costs for cancer, medicines, treatments, etc. FAR outway any financial gains they get from pushing poison.  Healthy people should be protected.

I have asthma and won't go to bar's where I can't breathe properly. A lot of my friend's are DJ's in these venues, and I'm unable to support them; plus it's not good for the equipment either. It's not fair that the "poisoners" have more rights than health-conscious people. 2 A.M. decontamination showers really suck! thanks for your concern, let us breathe freely?

As a non-smoker myself I think I nor anybody else should have to put up with second hand smoke and all of the harmful effects of it.

I don't believe smokers should jeopardize those of us who appreciate having healthy lungs, and love to breathe clean air. Just because you have a habit you choose not to quit from, don't put those of us who aren't smokers in your "line of fire". If you want to smoke, then you're gonna have to go somewhere where there aren't people who are offended by it.

We deserve the right to breathe clean air and not be exposed to cancerous toxins in public. Its difficult to go out to enjoy a band or some DJ's because the exposure to poison air is so prevalent. A lot of performers, singers, etc. have had throat polyps and or lung masses due to this exposure.
