This petition has nothing to do with what the Cameron County Auditor, Mark Yates, has or has not done. This is simply a reaction to the handling of the situation by the Cameron County District Attorney, Armando Villalobos.

Local news channels were present for the arrest, indicating someone informed them it was to take place and wanted to make sure they were there to film it. The arrest also happened late in the afternoon with the hopes of Mr. Yates having to spend the night in jail. These actions seem to go further than just stinky county politics...

Mr. Villalobos is up for reelection next year. His pitiful attempts at political advancement will be remembered at the polls.

We, the undersigned, are wholeheartedly disappointed with the recent political maneuvering of Cameron County District Attorney, Armando Villalobos. Mr. Villalobos is up for reelection next year and we will remember his shenanigans at the voter's booth.

I work for the Dept. of Justice in Washington D.C. The lack of good judgment and ethical conduct on the part of the Cameron County law enforcement community regarding the arrest of Mr. Yates is reprehensible. Even the lowest of the low should be treated in a more respectful and fair manner. Shame on the members of the law enforcement community and the media for their lack of good judgment.

There are always two sides to a story and although I know Mark personally. An allegation has been made and the DA is just doing his job. There was obvious enough to initiate an arrest and let the justice system work itself out. Maybe Mark has skeletons in the closet that only he and those close to him would know. Every family has its one bad apple!

Dear Sir I am very dissapointed with your office Mr Mattingly and Mr Marso are handling a case against Rio Grande Manner in the Case of my Mother Mrs Natalia E. Trevino. Sir I think they are deciding that they have no case because my sotpped eating drinking and taking medications for about 3 weeks so they dont think they have a case but If they would only understand my mother could not refuse to eat or drink or take medications she supposedly was in their with a medical power of attorney which took her rights to make decisions on her own. We as sons and daughters could not make decisions for because the nursing home said they had this power of attorney so if she did not eat drink or take medications for three weeks it was plane and simply murder on the part of the nursing home since a judge took her rights away by signing a medical power of attorney.

The latest rumor is that the District Judges have pre-selected Richard Valdez to be the next county auditor. This individual is Judge Roy Valdez's brother...was appointed by Gilberto Hinojosa to fill the unexpired term of another county commissioner a few years ago. Valdez went on to lose to Edna Tamayo. This would be a mockery of the whole system in Cameron County. Although we have a new county judge that is trying to change things..he cannot do it alone...he needs help.

How can the request to remove his current counselor not be seen as politics? Mark Yates: You are owed an apology for this injustice. You are a valuable employee. I know that you are highly repected by many. Please know that many honest taxpayers who have been involved with the local politics can read between the lines.
