Dogs need a place to run and play and be leash free! South Corona has grown tremendously in the recent years; schools have gone up, streets are expanding and recreational parks are popping up everywhere...yet our four legged friends are being forgotten!
We the undersigned feel that a Dog Park is needed in South Corona, CA.  I spoke with someone at the City Council and was informed that there have been a few people asking about an additional dog park but that the requests for sports complexes has been much greater.  We need to give our furry friends a voice and most of all a well maintained, leash free park to run and play in!
Please sign the petition, leave a comment as to what you would like to see at the park and where you would like to see one placed!  Help your community grow and to be a place for the entire family!

Ever since getting our new Golden Retriever we've been looking for a place that we can take him to run around, but there is no where nearby. It would be wonderful if there was a dog park within a 10 minute drive of our home, we would go there all the time! A dog park doesn't need to be fancy, a large grass area with a few shady trees and a fresh water source would be perfect.

Somewhere near Santiago High School would be wonderful.

We would love to see a dog park in south Corona. It is a bit of a drive to Butterfield Park down by the airport.

Santana Park, Citrus Park, Mtn. Gate Park, Jameson Park, we are blessed with quite a lot of park space here in south Corona, it would not take much room for a dog park.

all cities have a nice dog park and i live in chase ranch south corona and have to travel almost 9 miles to get to the dog park in corona and thats not viable with our gas prices today. i would like to see our high tax dollars being used in ways to accomodate our needs and number 1 would be convenience, thank you.

i would like to use the park on valencia / masters and close to rimpau and california include a dog section :

I would love a dog park in south corona, I find myself traveling to the buterfield or harada dog park. I find dog park very useful to get dogs better socialized.

It seems that the new Jameson park looks like a perfect area, since there is nothing really there. A field can not be placed there since it is on a hill, but a fenced dog park would tollay work. Plus Corona just planted new trees, which will provide shade during the hot days. Another thing is if you look at Harada dog park, the city used part of the baseball outfield fence to make the dog park. The city of Corona can easily use on of the many baseball fields we have in south corona (ie Mountain Gate Community Park, Citrus Community Park, Santana Regional Park, Eagle Glen Community Park, etc.

Dog parks are not only a great place for dogs to exercise, but for their owners to get to know other people too!

Anywhere in Corona! :)

We have a large population with lots of dogs. The park at Smith and Butterfield is a long way from the South Corona area.

Anywhere in the South Corona, CA area!

I may not have a dog currently, but I used to have a beautiful boxer and it would have been nice to have somewhere to take her!

It doesnt really matter where the park is!

A dog park in So. Corona will help to bring the dog loving community together while providing a safe, enjoyable place for dogs (and their owners) to learn how to socialize with others.

In an upscale, park-like setting with pleanty of shade, human & dog drinking water, "clean up" tools for doggie messes, and seating for dog owners. Somewhere between Weirick & Horsetheif Canyon. Perhaps along Temescal Canyon Road.

Definitely need another dog park. The only one I know of is at Butterfield Park right next to the Corona airport. It gets crowded at times too. Dogs need to socialize with one another and owners can feel good letting their dogs run free without any leash. Being a local business owner, of a dog bakery, I support this totally. We like to be involved too if we can, for example sponsoring poop bags and so on.

I like the new dog park to be somewhere on Ontario Ave/Street, maybe close to the big church (don't remember the name).

My husband and I are moving to south corona in june and have 2 little dogs. We are currently living in a area that has a dog park less than 5 mins away. It is so nice to have the option of being able to take your furry little family to a park where they can play and be leash free. It would dramatically increase my overall rating of the south corona area if they added a dog park. That was actually something that we had mentioned while looking for our house down there

I think the newer areas such as off weirick and cajalco would be ideal

I visit my brother and his family frequently in Corona, and I often bring my dogs. He has several dogs and it would be great to have an open area for all of them to play.

Doggie water fountain and plenty of poop bags; plenty of shade; double entrance gate providing a small "holding area" between the two gates; benches for owners; lots of grass; securely constructed cyclone fence enclosure.

Either side of the 15 freeway between Weirick Rd. and Indian Truck Trail.

I would LOVE to see a new dog park established in South Corona. There has been tremendous residential growth in this area and along with it's human population . . . there has also been an increase in pets/dogs. A dog park would be a wonderful asset to this community. Features I would like to see: Med-Large shade trees, grass, a dog water/drinking fountain, doggie dootie bag dispenser, concrete benches, waste/trash disposal bins and all enclosed within a 6-7 foot chain link fence perimeter (similar to park at Butterfield Park/Corona Airport).

A Dog Park is needed in the South Corona Area.

I am a dog trainer and behavioral consultant so I see first hand the consequences of under socialized and under exercised dogs. South Corona is in dire need of a place for dogs and people to play together.

One thing i have noticed about our city is that the majority of the households have 2 things; children and pets. I personally have my own little princess, whom i like to take to the park periodically. there are so many parks in the city of corona, why not allow at least one of them for out pets (who for some are our greatest companions) to be able to enjoy.

In the last 5 years 3 have been made just in south corona. all of them less than 5 miles away from eachother. I am sure one of them can be used as a dog part without making too much of an impact

I have been a resident of Corona for almost 5 years, and owner of 2 large dogs. We have frequented the small dog park by Corona airport, but would think the community would benefit from a newer dog park, that is larger with less trees for the dogs to run, and stadium style lights for pets to play in the early evenings when it gets dark. We have been driving to the Irvine dog park for these immenities. I believe myself and other dog owners would appreciate and utilize a new dog park in the South Corona area.

South Corona area, adjacent to existing park or recreation area.

I definately see the need for a dog park in South Corona or the Chino area. I have a large lab that loves to run and play and our back yard is not enough to tire him out.

The dog park at Butterfield doesn't have a space for small dogs only. Finding space to park is an issue when the ballgames are going on for the kids so that makes it difficult to get to.

No further south than a few exits south of the 15 . . . it can be difficult to find surface streets to get around when the traffic is tied up on the freeway and it needs to be convenient to get to or it won't be used. So something that you can get to from surface streets.
