Spend district funds in the classroom, not on elections!

At the last SMCISD board meeting, the board of trustees voted to keep their elections in May, rather than moving them to the November uniform election date.

Had the board moved the election to November, there would have been no cost to the district. However, by keeping the election in May, the board made the district responsible for bearing the cost of the elections.

The board then spent $79,000 in district funds to pay for voting machines.

In a budget crisis, district funds should be kept in the classroom, not spent on political considerations.

Please sign our petition urging the San Marcos CISD Board of Trustees to reconsider their earlier vote and move their elections to November.
