Stay at home Moms have no access to social security disability.benefits.

Target:
Everyone
Sponsored by:

Mother's that chose to stay home and raise thier chldren will have little or no Social Security and do not have access to Social Security Disability because stay at home Moms have not paid in to the Social Security System. It is not enough we did on less and made sacrifices to stay home to care for our children or even an elderly parent. In my case I broke my back, but because I didn't pay into the system, social security will not even consider my health issue. Social Security Disability is quick to pay out to drug addicts with hep C but the future of mothers with disabilities is bleak and could be the next largest group of homeless people in this country.

Isn't it time that those who care and those who are victims are given the same rights as those who self abuse and waste their lives?

I am scared about this since all of my 20's were spent taking care of both my grandmother and my mother until they both died (to make sure they would not have to live or die in a nursing home) and I only worked part time and now that I am a mom I stay at home with my child. I do not think we should help drug addicts, but we should help stay at home moms! But look at what has NOT been done for the people who helped and other recsue workers on and after September 11th.

To Whom It May Concern: I am a Mother of Four small children and stayed at home for eight of the last ten years, returning to work only in September 2006. This May, 2008, I was diagnosed with Syringomyelia, a rare disorder which causes the spinal cord to be destroyed by cerebrialspinal fluid cysts. There is no cure, and little treatment for this disorder. I was a 911 dispatcher and am married to a Police Officer. Daily, we as one fought off negative people, and assisted citizens in need. My husband puts his life on the line, and as his wife, I have to set aside my fears that he will be killed in the line of duty. On July 2, 2008, I was told by the Social Security Administration that because my husband has been working overtime, that he needs to continue to do so to keep a roof over our childrens heads! With his overtime, we make $4100 a month for the six of us. We are only allowed to make $3271 according to what I was told. Therefore, I did not qualify for SSI. Furthermore, I did not qualify for SSDI because I chose to not let a stranger raise my children, or a school teach them how to count. I did it myself. We lived in a three bedroom trailer with the six of us for six of those years, determined to be able to stay at home with the children. Now, I can not run with my babies and our government, whom I am positive calls 911 for help, is denying us of helping ourselves. I was to thank Uncle Sam for taking care of the Mothers and Fathers who dedicated themselves selflessly, and for their spouses having to worry about how to make the next mortgage payment because he arent drug addicts and alcoholics riding free. Thank you, if you would like to contact me please do. 757 285 8410 mama2garp@yahoo.com...Jennifer Thompson. PS> I am sending this to all Police Depts I can get it too...WE WILL NOT STOP UNTIL WE TOO ARE TAKEN CARE OF BY OUR GOVERNMENT!!!!!

Stay at home mothers do the hardest work for no pay and a rare (if ever) thank you. Why punish them for choosing family over career? And to all you parents who made that choice to raise your children instead of going to a job where you get a pay check, thank you for being the caretakers of our future!

i'm a stay at home of 4 children. people don't understand that this job is hard and more requires more time then any other job out there. yes i love my job. i did have a regular job that i worked 40 plus hours at for 8 years but i decide when my son was 4 1/2 that i would stay at home to raise him and my children to come. i never wish to change it now. but everyone needs to understand that we deserve social security benefits because we've worked but we choose to do the greatest job of all and raise our children with pay. image that doing something without pay for the great good of mankind. wake up people more parents need to see this.
