Through this petition, the hereby undersigned, express our expectation that relevant authorities respect the Argentinean laws that recognize animals rights: law 14346, and thus take actions to prohibit and punish any act of cruelty to animals.
We specially demand the prosecution and punishment of those responsible for the brutal assassination of a dog in Las Lajitas, province of Salta, as this sign of insanity jeopardizes the security of a whole community.
Through this petition, the hereby undersigned, express our expectation that relevant authorities respect the Argentinean laws that recognize animals rights: law 14346, and thus take actions to prohibit and punish any act of cruelty to animals.
During the latest years, specially 2011, the province of Salta, Argentina, reported many cases on animal cruelty and most of them are under juridic processes:
1. Sexual abuse of dogs.
2. Burned dogs with boiling water or oil.
3. Burned horses.
4. Dogs killed with gun.
5. Torture of dogs.
6. Horses starved to dead in the Caballeria of Salta.
The latest case was in Las Lajitas, where a dog was tortured and stabbed till death, while people was laughing and filming. The video was uploaded to Youtube, and it was seen by hundred or thousands of people. The Society for Animal Protection in Salta, Argentina, brought the case to the court and it is waiting for a resolution. Unfortunately, the resolution of previous cases ended up in nothing, and most of the responsible for animal cruelty did not receive any punishment.
It is time to demand the Argentinean government to do something!
We demand:
1. The prosecution and punishment of the responsible for the brutal assassination of the dog in Las Lajitas, as this sign of insanity jeopardizes the security of a whole community.
2. The prosecution and punishment of the people who participated in the act in Las Lajitas, as these type of behaviors are totally unaccepted.
3. The revision, prosecution and punishment of previous cases brought to the court.
3. The establishment of security mechanisms in all communities in Argentina, that seek to avoid crimes against life of citizens and animals.
4. Create awareness, trough educational campaigns in schools and public institutions.
5. Prevent animal cruelty and any type of violence that may led to un-respect for life.
