He also wants to suspend the Hayden bill known as the Animal Adoption Mandate which protects stray animals.
We must speak for the voiceless animals and urge the governor to cut budgets elsewhere, and not make it worse for animals who are already in bad situations.

We the undersigned would like to urge you to please consider cutting budgets elsewhere and not decrease the shelter hold time to 3 days. Animals do not end up at the shelter at their own will. Please pass a bill or a law preventing HUMAN from dumping their animals, then you can save millions of dollars from shelters because they would all be empty.
Rescuers work very hard to try to find these poor animals homes, and cutting the holding period will greatly impact adoptable animals' lives.
We urge you to PLEASE PLEASE NOT Pass this Budget Cut.

I believe that NO animal should ever be on "death row", but I guess trying to keep it 6 days is the best I can do right now. I hope that this bill does not pass.

What are you thinking....there are people on death row longer than 3 days? Where is your conscience? Give the dogs a chance for someone to take them into their homes I believe people need time to get down there and visit with the dog they want and a chance to make up their minds on a selection.

Animals can not speak for themselves, and if they could they would tell the governor that what he is proposing is unfair. I do not agree with this proposal and I know many more people are going to agree with me, I will let as many people know about this. The governor should use the money that he uses to put down the animals into a service to adopt the animals and raise awareness on how many of them need homes. Take cuts from somewhere else. This is an outage! I will spread the word.

It is almost impossible for those who lose their pets to react within 3 days...often if a lost pet is found, it is held by the finder to see if they can find the owner themselves to keep the animal from having to go to shelters just for this reason. Don't those in Sacramento get it??? Pets are to be loved and taken care of..I am proud to say that my county, San Mateo, has a no kill shelter and I am very proud of them and support them whole heartedly. Many older animals have been there some time and they do eventually get adopted. Arnold, you and your cronies care more about lining your pockets than having a heart and taking care of these lost and lovable souls. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

My dog was a shelter dog taken from the pound by a rescue group. On behalf of her sweet, loving nature and the love we have for her, please allow time for groups and individuals to find homes, fosters, and the original owners of these animals. Please do not shorten hold time. It will only add to the tragedy of an already tragic situation.
