Help save animals from cruel strychnine poisoning

Tuesday, Februay 8th: Belmopan City Council has announced in a press release that they will shortly begin a "stray dog eradication programme" - to you and me that means poisoning all dogs found on the streets to reduce the number of strays.

I am firmly opposed to this kind of action: it exposes humans, pet cats and dogs and other wild animals to dangerous chemicals and their after effects, as strychnine will be left lying around the streets in pieces of meat. It is a cruel way to deal with a dog as it causes a slow and painful death - there are kinder alternatives such as euthanising the animals.
