Stop Bill - C26 - We will re-live the 1920 prohibition horrors

Marijuana will be treated as dangerous as heroin and the punishments will be great. Canadas prison system will look much like the US - people serving long sentences for the possesion of mere amounts of harmless cannabis.

Moreover small time dealers and personal/spiritual users will be heavily penalized while large time drug dealers and traffickers will take over.
Prohibition does not work, it leaves the door open for dangerous people to take over.
This is what has happened time and time again with alcohol prohibition, in the 1920's gangsters such as Al Capone dominated cities turning them into violent bloodbaths..all because of prohibition. This is where Bill-C26 will take us.

The Conservatives claim this bill is tough on organized crime and big time traffickers. The reality is that mandatory minimums do not deter organized crime. Instead, they affect almost exclusively the small dealers, street traffickers, and non-violent offenders while leaving the door open for organized crime to step in and fill the void created at the lower levels. Mandatory Minimums for drug sentences increase enforcement costs exponentially, and the burden on the criminal justice and prisons systems is great.

This is not Canada!!
