Attorny General Eric Holder

Stop bill H.R. 2159 and H.R. 2401

Target:
All freedom loving Americans, gun owners or not.
Sponsored by:
This bill aims to strip "right wing extremists" of their 2nd amendment rights. Right wing extremists have been defined in the MIAC Report  http://restoretherepublic.com/pdf/miac-strategic-report.pdf     as veterans, advocates of the 2nd amendment, people opposed to the North American Union, "right to life" advocates, worshippers of Odin, and third party candidate supporters among others.  H.R. 2159 gives the Attorny General of the US Eric Holder complete and sole discretion without due process to deny 2nd amendment rights to anyone deemed a "right wing extremist" whose definition is ever expanding.   http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h111-2159
I just added H.R. 2401; No fly, No buy Act of 2009. This bill seeks to deny Americans 2nd amendment rights by linking the NICS background check system to anyone on the no fly list to deny their right to buy a firearm. People are put on the no fly list with no due process whatsoever and by extension will deny their 2nd amendment rights as well with no due process.
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h111-2401
I hope anyone who signed on to this petition for 2159 feels the same for  2401. If not I will delete their name.

As an ex military person, and someone who doesn't wish to pay for abortions, and a freedom loving America... You've already labeled me a terrorist... so my rights will no longer stand in this bill... sorry, but this bill needs to die...

No elected offical has the right to decide what americans can be covered under the 2nd amendment. congress needs to do the right thing and uphold the constitution.

H.R. 2159 should be called the "Disarming American Citizens Act of 2009."

Thomas Jefferson said, "A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have." He also said, "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." It appears the US Government may now be at the point of being "that big" and is trying to take away our constitutional rights. If they succeed at taking away this one, which one will be next? And next? And next?

it's the same old song and dance. if you don't agree with the liberals, will then they don't like you. they will do what-ever it takes to attack you. if it isn't taxes then it's your guns. the democrats have always rewarded those that support them, and punished those who don't. what else is new.

I am adamantly opposed to HR. 2159 as it is -or in ANY other variation. This bill usurps citizens constitutional rights and due process of law. HR. 2159 is absolutely unconstitutional. It allows for a most basic and fundemental right to be violated on nothing more then the whim of an unelected federal bureaucrat. If Congress passes this bill or any others like it, the American people will know that elected body is no longer protecting and upholding constitutional rights but blatently abridging them and the oath to which they have sworn.

Where in the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution does it give permission for ANYONE to be able to do this??? If it is not stated in the U.S. Consitution, then it is IL-LEGAL to even approach this kind of CRAP!!!!

You cannot trust an Attorney General who is totally against firearms ownership and the second amendment with this kind of power. For that matter you cannot trust the US Government with this kind of power.

Elected officials take an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Support of this bill violates that oath!

Both bills HR 2159 and 2401 will effectively attempt to destroy the Constitutional right of Americans to own weapons all in the name of "protection against terrorist threat." The only "terrorists" that this bill seeks to stop are informed Americans, veterans, and those who seek to stop their government from taking away our freedoms. The Second Amendment was put into place to ensure that Americans can revolt against a government that does not have its best interests. The current political situation is dire because bills are flowing into Congress that seek to take away the rights of Americans under dangerously false pretenses. Legislation needs to be written that supports the inalienable rights of American citizens because bills HR 2159 and HR 2401 will destroy any method that the American people could use to overthrow and incredibly criminal and unjust government. The American government has been hijacked by corporate interests and needs to be stopped. Only the people can do this, but not if their weapons are stolen from them by these bills. Protect the People from tyranny!

Legislation such as these two bills once again attemps to create a group of lesser class citizens of the US. I have never read in the Constitution of the United States a paragraph or section which allows the designation of a any group as second class citizens. We must stop this foolishness and reclain our our government as defined by our Founding Fathers.

Who is the gov. really working for? It doesn't seem to be the tax-paying, law abiding people. A famous saying reads "Kids who hunt, trap, and fish don't mug little old ladies" Politicians should take that into consideration when they come up with STUPID ideas like this one. STOP THE IDIOCY!!!

I attended a Tea Party last Thursday in Bismarck, Nd. and there was over 1200 people in attendance. Not one radio or television station reported on it..Wake up America..233 years of upholding the Constitution and just 7 months to destroy it..Our forefathers gave us this right to carry arms and we in North Dakota will fight to the very end before these Socialist/Marxist take away our freedoms..I for one will be passing this petition on to everyone in my address book..Please people..Attend a Tea Party in your area and help this grass roots movement. Make signs, call friends and keep it going...

Think about it America! Why would the government want to take away the right of law abiding citizens to own guns and protect themselves? The reason the founding fathers put that in the constitution was to allow us to be able to protect ourselves against a tyrannical government. Hmmm....

I looked at both bills, and as is the progressive norm, both were worded vaguely enough to be interpreted broadly. It especially concerned me that there was no definite definition of the term terrorist included or referred to, so they could just substitute "right wing extremist", or a set of criteria that would get you placed on the "no fly list".

When firearms are outlawed, only outlaws will been armed -- like the thugs are now. There aren't enough LEOs to insure every law-abiding citizen their protection -- besides, that's not really their job. All Pres. Obama, his staff & AG Holder wants to do is make the U.S.A. into a third-world country that will be under the U.N. laws. Huh, so much for them taking their Oaths of Office back on January 20, 2009; "I will... ...defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic..." These people stripping the very essence of what makes our Constitution different from everybody else. Remember, while we have seen presidents come and go -- we have kept our Constitution since 1787. Our Founding Fathers worked harder than our present-day Congress-men & women to write & present the document to those early states -- they DID NOT mean for us to throw it into the trash-can to hauled off & burned.

Even though I am not a gun ownership fanatic, I think this bill is too vague in it's definition of a terrorist. It should not be passed as is.
