Stop BP's new project in B.C.'s Rocky Mountains NOW!

Instead of focusing all of their resources and attention on the clean up in the Gulf of Mexico, BP has been working on the construction of a well for a methane project in B.C.
"The provincial government awarded tenure to BP Canada for the Mist Mountain project last December, over the objections of conservationists and First Nations on both sides of the border, as well as the Fernie town council. Those critics say there is not enough environmental oversight for the project, which they believe will impact water and wildlife in the Rocky Mountain ecosystem. The coalbed methane extraction includes re-injecting polluted water back into the ground, a process conservationists worry will contaminate ground water." Let's stop BP from creating yet another environmental catastrophe. Please sign this petition and forward it everywhere!

Thanks!

We, the undersigned, would like you to get B.P. out of British Columbia's pristine Rocky Mountain ecosystem. There is too much at stake for a company- especially one with such a terrible safety record- to be drilling there. It is not worth any amount of money to lose the fauna and flora, pollute the water and air, and reduce the quality of life for those (including people) who inhabit the area. Please take a stand against B.P. Please take a stand for B.C.! Thanks for your time.
