Stop cutting funds and services for the disabled and seniors!
California's Governor has cut the pay and many of the services of the disabled and senior citizens of this state. IHSS workers (who care for our disabled and senior citizens) pay has also been cut. Medical services such as dental, vision, podiatry and hearing have all been cut completely, along with a list of other medical services.
We cannot allow the disabled and senior citizens of this state to suffer and get more ill due to the lack of medical services they need. They already live on a modicum of pay, and now they have even less to survive.
There are other services in this state that should be cut before any cuts are made that effect the lives and health of its citizens.
What are you thinking?!
How is it that you can cut the pay and health benefits of our senior and disabled citizens and their caregivers? OK, find ways to stop fraud in the system, but you cannot put the lives and health of these people in danger. You have done that by cutting their pay and health benefits.
Cutting dental benefits is going to lead to higher incidents of bad health. Their teeth are going to get worse and it's documented that gingivitis can lead to heart disease. You've cut their hearing and vision benefits, does it not matter to you whether people can see and hear? You've cut their podiatry benefits. Many people have severe foot problems, does it not matter to you whether they have the use of their feet? The list goes on and on!
You must rescind the cuts you've made to the pay and health benefits. We support the fight against fraud in the system, but you must find other State expenditures to cut that don't effect the lives and health of its citizens.
