Stop HR875 bill in US congress - save our food chain

Target:
US residents to raise alarm with US congress
Sponsored by:

Ms Linn Cohen-Cole wrote an important (and worrying!) article giving insight into power of genetic modification (GM) lobby has over our food chain. She suggests that to begin reversing GM contamination will require ending the power biotech companies such as Monsanto exert over our [US] government and through that, over our food. HR 875, was introduced by Rosa DeLauro whose husband Stanley Greenburg works for Monsanto.

Read Ms Linn's article, sign the petition, write to your representative and share it with all your contacts in the US, for the sake of the Americans, and us all - people, animals, planet.

Everyone is entitled to the right to produce food and sell it locally. It has been this way for thousands of years. please use common sense and oppose this bill.

Dear Congressman Donnelly, Please vote against HR875 which will drive organic farmers out business and allow Monsanto and other chemical companies to profit and prosper. This is just another way for corporations to control our lives and standard of living!

To increase our use of GMO food is insanity; we will, in the end, starve to death. Being one of the millions whose lives have been negatively impacted by GMO technology I implore all to think realistically and LONG term on issues altering nature! Ignore your greed and research.

OK, stop being a politician and think how this is going to kill our country and how the common person would become a criminal just for making plants grow. Assassins will kill the president, assassins who used to have a nice life on a small farm. The rest of the people will become genetic slaves obeying every command from our government, now we would be who we are fighting against.... COMMUNISM

Please do not pass this Bill it directly impacts Organic Farming even ordinary household gardeners. Why is there no conflict of interest here when the sponsor's husband works for Monsanto? Does Mrs Obama realize that her White House Victory Garden will be affected? Please do not take away foods that are NOT SPRAYED with PESTICIDES and other POISONS! Please vote against this Bill and save our bodies especially those of the young.

What a joke! The only people getting sick are the ones eating corporate spinach and peanut butter. Not being able to grow our own food? This is not "Freedom"!!!

Come on people we need to get rid of gm food it will destroy the planets ecological system Im sure the fact the bee population is dying out is to do with gm crops think about what these foods do to us and these crops do not have the output that organic crops have they become sterile after a few growths.

In times of economic hardships, why is the government making it HARDER for ANY industry to flourish and stimulate the economy? Local farming provides jobs and stimulates community livelihood..it's a fact! The government should take this opportunity to INVEST in the only healthful option, not destroy it! Beside the economic issue, there is a disturbing civil rights issue. If people do not feel "safe" consuming organic foods, then choose the conventional. If I don't feel safe consuming conventional...I should have the right to choose organic. This bill may take this option from me....leaving me with only 1 choice..in essence making up my mind for me. This sounds like a monopoly and benefits only large corporate agri-businesses. How can removing natural choices be in OUR best interest? To me, it seems like one more step to a fully synthetic lifestyle. This saddens me as it is doing nothing but destroying our environment and health all to benefit corporate wallets and enforce control over the population.

This is incredibly un-american. If my mom can't grow vegetables in her back yard, we may as well all move to China. This is ridiculous.

These giant corporations continue to dictate policy in this country. You are elected by the people and yet you consider bills that are contrary to the good of your constituents. Do not allow this bill to pass! People are barely staying afloat in these current times and now we have to deal with our food supply.

This bill is crazy!!! People who choose to live a healthy life by eating organic food should not have that right taken away. This bill interfers with peoples choice. Organic farming does not hurt us. It helps us. It is the industrialized factory farms that are harming us humans and the planet. GM of plants and animals ultimately leads to GM people!!!!! YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!!!!! Think People, What will this lead us to. How have theeuropeans survived? The have less health problems, they have maintained a healthy food supply. Why do other countries BAN american food products? Because we corrupt them. HIgh Fructoses cornsyrup bad stuff. Coke USA puts it in its products; but Coke in Mexico uses SUGAR???? WHY???? THINK??? LOOK AT OUR PEOPLE-- there are an awful lot of obese individuals out there. If we want to make food better REMOVE THE CHEMICALS SCREW MONSANTO

when i was informed about this bill i just had to take a stand.as a teen growing up into the next generation in this country i feel that this bill will affect myself, my kids, my grandkids and ll other generations to come.the food that we eat with all this bacteria and BT crops in them is very unnecessary and needs to change for the better immediately, because if not then this world will stay the same and have people getting diseases just from the things that they put in their stomachs, and food is not meant to do that.so i put my foot down and am going to try and make a chnage to this terrible thing happening

As a teen im worried about the route our government is taking and how its going to affect the next generations. Food is meant to be organic not modified to the point were people get sick from what they eat. All americans should be aware of this bill, so inform as many people as possible.

I eat organic food and wish to have a choice as to what does or does not enter my body.
