The Japanese whaling fleet, the ship is the Nishan Maru, and is aiming a harpoon, with a high explosive tip, at a whale.

STOP JAPANESE WHALING!

Target:
comments@whitehouse.gov.
This petition is ment to get both the Austrailian and United States goverments to stop the Japanese Cetacean Research Co's illegal whaling activities. The Cetacean Research co. is exploiting a loop hole in the global agreement to stop all whaling. The loop hole is that a country is allowed to use lethal tactics to learn about the whales.

We live in a age were we can produce every product that can be gotten from the cruel, bloody slaughter of whales, yet this goes on!? They are targeting the Humpback whale, the most common whale seen on whale watching trips, and that was just recently removed from the endangered species list ; the Finn whale, a species that is still endangered, and there are rumors that they may be trying to catch a Blue whale, the rarest, and largest species of whale. Whats worse is that the meat is sold in markets, violating the Endangered Species act that states that it is illegal to partake in any exchange involving a living endangered species, products made from them, or parts of one.

For the Australians, if you haven't already heard, they are targeting Migaloo,  the "Big white fella" that swims off Australia's coast.

And anyone who signs, could you please spread the word of this petition? The more signers we get, the faster we can have a effect. Thanks.

Why should they be able to continue this cruel, and needless act? Japan can produce everything in factories that they can get from whales! Thousands are brought in for "research" that has no results, and the meat is sold in markets! Do you want

Why is it that we NEED to know about every creature on this planet? Why can't we just let them live in peace? This kind of research is unacceptable. How would we feel if whales conducted this kind of research on us?

Sneaky whaling is wrong. Using scientific research as a means to capture whales is unacceptable. If you're going to kill an animal, at least have the decency to admit exactly what you are doing.

The intent of the ban is clear, stop the use of this horrible loop hole in the destruction of these important ocean species. No one wants the destruction of whales. The oddity of whale meat can end today and no one's life will suffer. Please help improve the natural condition of our planet today!
