Junk Mail must be stopped-Do Not Mail List NOW!

Target:
Urge the Federal Government to allow us to decide if we want junk mail.
Sponsored by:
Every year advertisers spend millions of dollars to force their message into our lives in the form of Junk Mail. Advertisers spend an average of 5 cents per household to get their name into the hands of the populous. The restaurant industry is suffering right now. They could collectively solve their financial wowes and reduce their carbon footprint in the process by cutting wasteful bulk mailing. A smart business would capitalize on this opportunity to be a trend setter by saving the world one piece of junk mail at a time. Some food for thought.. Mailing a coupon for five dollars off an entree to 10000 houses every week at 5 cents per household would save $26000.00 per year. Multiply that number by 500 restaurants and you get $13 million. Now change that 500 to 50000 restaurants and you get $1,300,000,000.00. Yes ONE BILLION THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND dollars is what they spend on badgering you to eat their food for more than they need to charge for it; so they can sustain their huge advertising budgets. Silly wouldn't you aggree? According to the National Restaurant Association, there are currently 13 million people working for over 900,000 restaurants in th U.S alone. Imagine the raises $1.3 Billion could provide those employees. Now that is a stimulous package.

I get an overabundance of junk mail, and it is ridiculous and wasteful! There needs to be a do-not-mail list so we can curb all this waste of paper and trees!!

Also, "junk mail" should be printed on 100% recycled paper BY LAW, as should greetings cards, especially Christmas cards and wrapping paper.
