STOP MASS CAT KILLING IN LOS ANGELES

The Los Angeles County Department of Health has contracted with the Carson Animal Shelter to trap cats at various locations across the county. Hundreds, maybe thousands, of vaccinated, spayed, healthy cats will be killed. Feral cats are not adoptable. These cats are no more of a threat to human health than the pets that walk through our neighborhoods every day. This will cost the struggling taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars, based on calculations from previous mass trappings. Now is not the time to be spending, and killing is not the answer.

We, the undersigned, do not want taxpayer money spent on the trapping and killing of feral cats in Los Angeles. It is inhumane and unnecessary. Please advise the Health Department to work with non-profits to implement the proven management technique of trap-neuter-return to control the feral cat population. thank you.

It is appalling and inhuman that cat killing is even considered! Are we still in the dark ages? We should protect and love our fellow creatures. Instead, we abuse them, even cause their extinction. SHAME ON US! This is how we treat those who give us love, loyalty & companionship? Why should they not be adoptable? With love & patience virtually anything is possible.

You can't even fix my sidewalk, where someone could fall and kill themselves, but you can spend my tax dollars on killing defenseless cats. This is unacceptable. Cats have been known throughout history to keep the rodent population in check. They serve a purpose. This is nothing but cruel and Joe Ramirez I hope God strikes you where you live. Shame on you.
