The Los Angeles County Department of Health has contracted with the Carson Animal Shelter to trap cats at various locations across the county. Hundreds, maybe thousands, of vaccinated, spayed, healthy cats will be killed. Feral cats are not adoptable. These cats are no more of a threat to human health than the pets that walk through our neighborhoods every day. This will cost the struggling taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars, based on calculations from previous mass trappings. Now is not the time to be spending, and killing is not the answer.

We, the undersigned, do not want taxpayer money spent on the trapping and killing of feral cats in Los Angeles. It is inhumane and unnecessary. Please advise the Health Department to work with non-profits to implement the proven management technique of trap-neuter-return to control the feral cat population. thank you.

I do not think it is a good idea to go around killing cats. The stray cats in Los Angeles are not all diseased. Some of the cats that will be poisoned, are lost cats. There owners are looking for them. The use of poisons will end up killing several other types of animals. Cats play an important roll in society, they kill mice and rats. Cat do not usually attack humans, unless they are cornered. Please do not go through with this!
