The American Civil Liberties Union (www aclu.org) just reported on new scanners purchased by tax dollars which duplicate the security metal detection technology already in place in airports. These expensive new scanners violate us. This image has been blurred for publication, but shows breasts, nipples, body fat, scrotum, contours of genitals to strangers. Your husband, wife, daughter, son will have intimate images taken when you travel. Strangers look at these all day. We pay for it. Stop this disgusting, costly, and unnecessary picture taking of your body. The Department of Homeland Invasion (Security) has too much power and it has gone too far. Time for some common sense.

We , the undersigned request senators and congressmen immediately refuse funding for sexually explicit scanning at nation's airports. The intimate contours of breasts, nipples, scrotum, penis, etc are clearly visible so all adults, women, teens, children will be exposed. We reject the manipulation and removal of even the most basic personal rights and American freedoms under the "name" of "protection". We request withdrawal of all funding and strong congressional oversight be instituted over the NSA and Homeland Security to prevent further unwarranted invasions of rights, a blatant disrespect for individual privacy. Forcible exposure of the naked body is an unmerited and unwanted intrusion. While our children are being taught to protect their "private parts" from strangers, and predators, our own government under NSA now ignores this common decency. Current metal detection apparatus is sufficient. This indecent invasive technology can further damage citizen desire to use airlines. Intrusion required by the government was unthinkable a mere 8 years ago. Thank you for recognizing and preventing the future dangers implicit in this major invasion of personal privacy.
We signed the "SAY NO to sexually explicit scans" petition!

I understand the need to be cautious and be able to seach hidden cavities for potential weapons but this crosses the line.

It is disgusting
I am almost at the point that I no longer desire to Fly and I have in the past been a frequent flyer
Repeal the looking at naked body parts or tell me which airports to avoid where you intend to have this technology so I can strike them off my destination cities

This is the epitome of callousness by a Department that since it's recent inception by the Bush Administration has increasingly felt above the law. We need congressional oversight.
