Stop Oil Speculators from inflating your gas prices

Target:
Drivers, gasoline users, energy users
Sponsored by:

Oil speculators are driving up the price of gasoline again.  Remember $4.35 per gallon gas?

Let’s teach these crooks a lesson.  Starting July 1st 2009 stop all unnecessary driving.  Try to cut your driving by 20% for a two week period.  This should not be hard to do.  If everyone does this, the speculators gamble on higher consumption will fail and they will lose $Billions of dollars and our gas prices will fall.  Let’s show them who’s in control and hit them where it hurts most, in their portfolios.

Pass this along to everyone you know and let’s stop oil speculators once and for all.  It will only work if everyone helps out.

Remember the first two weeks of July 2009 we take control!

An investigation needs to be launched by governments around the world on the hi-jacking and control of oil & gas prices. There needs to be a regulating body the oversees all prices in each country and adjusts global markets and prices to reflect a fair price to consumers. Each time the price rises the Oil Companies have another excuse for raising the price at the pumps. Yet when oil prices drop you never see the price at the pump to follow suit or to properly reflect of actual market price. i.e oil was at >$40 a barrel, but the price at the pump only dropped by mere pennies! Those oil prices were lower then the 1970's price during the oil crisis in the middle east. Why aren't these savings being passed onto the consumer. Someone is getting very rich and is not willing to share!!! Some reasons the Oil Companies have given for the high cost at the pumps... Hurricane Katrina, well that happen a few years ago, so that can't possible still be the reason for high prices. The war in Iraq, well world forces have helped to stabilize Iraq and although it's costly to have the troops and their armored carriers, ships, planes, helicopters, vehicles and tanks. That only accounts for a very small area of the globe compared to total global consumption. That still doesn't explain/account for the whole worlds consumption of oil. So what is happening with oil supplies everywhere else? After 911 - as tragic and heartbreaking as it was, that was another reason to increase gas prices again. Because the USA was under a terrorist attack? Shouldn't the cost have gone down after that as a sign of condemnation from countries around the world? The financial collapse of North American Automakers. I still don't get the correlation between the financial ruin of many countries and lives as a reason for gas prices to stay so high. If anything the price should have dropped significantly to encourage/stimulate the economy not stifle it. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

These CEOs "donate" so much to politicians, that our elected officials refuse to impose the excess profits tax on the oil corporations.

Oh, how I wish that all heed your advice. I am sure that if they did, the prices would go down and this could go on as long as they try to raise them again.

Good Method... Bad Timing with the holiday and so many vacations! But I will go the entire month after the vacation to make up for it!

Even people who benefit through profits made from higher gas prices pay more for everything that goes up in price due to the increased fuel costs, so even they don't gain much in the end. High fuel prices cause the country to suffer as a whole.

I resent our Nation's citizens and businesses being robbed by inflated gasoline prices.
