Well my name is Jessica Goodrich and I have been studying Wicca for about 7 years.

My own mother didn't want me to be a wiccan or even open a book related to it.I live with my grandmother now,who not only supports me but participates with me as well.It would be nice though,if other childeren could study in their own home and still be loved.

Given the documented violent history of the Catholic church, and the "Cruisades, and the Hitler movement that the catholics refused to speak out against,( in a deal with Hitler to leave their churches alone,"..( kill people but leave our buildings alone), and the Priest who molested children freely right under their Pope's nose, for centuries and for all of the MURDERED men, or BURNED women and INNOCENT children these cult like Catholics forced onto mankind or killed them if they refused, etc. etc. etc. How in the world could these people have a problem w/ a religion that says "HARM NONE"???I was raised catholic and I was taught, "Anyone who isn't catholic is going to Hell". I was taught babies not christened "go to Purgatory"? If this is right to them and HARM NONE is wrong to them...do these self confessed hate groups make any sense trying to keep their children in their "Cult" like church that worships "made up saints and prays to statues" and Pope's who at one time had children with anyone they chose, married or not? This church changed from 'NO meat on Fridays to"..never mind we changed our minds... They are hypocrits! They are the true evil Cult,if there is one to be worried about, not earth loving, accepting everyone, love mother earth Pagans. Paganism was here long before this anti humanity, hate spreading women hating, abuse promoting cult literally took over a huge part of humanity and look where this has taken us.

I find ignorance is the largest factor in the christians almost purposeful refusal to even acknowledge a religion that even Congress has acknowledged legally. Wicca is on the list of religons w/Congress, so how can any US law enforcement take children for such misunderstood ideas as "we worship satan"..Satan is a monster the christians invented, NOT the pagans, Satin is a monster that Pagans don't even believe in as a rule, never mind "worship".

Children should have the same rights as adults as far as religion goes. However, it is going to take more than a little petition to get this done.

I'm lucky that my parent's didn't disown me. I've known many who were.

Yeah, half my so-called loving family stopped speaking to me when it was clear that I was a witch. And a practicing one at that. For the children's sake, let them explore. May the Goddess guide your petition to the right eyes, and may thier hearts be opened. For you young'uns Goddess and God still love you regardless of faith. They will wait for you to be free to choose them. Blessed Be!

I gave up my family to become a witch. To this day they still view Wicca and Witchcraft as a negative thing. I'm now an educator/activist. I fight for pan-pagan rights and educate non-witches as to who we really are.

I know what it's like to have your parents not understand. Both of my parents are strict catholics and when I told them that I was pagan/wiccan my parents tried to stop me. They think it's just a phase and that I'll "grow out of it" but I am mature enough to know that this is not just a phase.

The path I follow is a pagan path. I encourage my children to explore all religions and then when they are old enough they can choose for themselves. I teach them to be respectful of other religions no matter what they are. When they have chosen their path to walk, I don't care if they are Christian, Jewish, Pagan , Buddist just so long as they respect everyone elses decisions on their paths. I took a comparative religion class and taught what I learn there to my children. All religions have similar basic beliefs. We are all in the same house, just looking out different windows
