We should not be an extension cord for the people of New Jersey and New York. Let them build a power plant in their states. 1-5, Segement 104 would go less than 500 feet from my property which has been in our family for five generations. I would not let a cell phone tower be placed on my property because I did not want it to destroy my property and now, I may have this ruining my property, my health, my family's and my animals.

My Child will be growing up in West Virginia and I would like to lower the impact that coal companies have within West Virginia. They are already destroying the environment through mountain top removal.

The TRAIL line through Northern West Virginia is not needed and the PATH line is not needed. These lines are only used to transport cheaper Coal Power to the eastern seaboard states. There is a large loss of power along these lines and therefore new power plants should be built closer to these larger cities.

The PATH project will have no positive impact on the state of WV and specifically Jefferson County. The health of our citizens and especially our children, given the proximity to both South Jefferson Elementary and Washington High School, should not be compromised for the sake of business. Please help fight this before it's too late. Tourism, property value, historic sites, and the environment will suffer tremendously. This project will travel directly through Blakeley and the Washington By-Way, both of which hold great historical significance.

The greedy rape of our environment must stop. This insanity, perpetuated by a few on the many, is carving the steady death of our planet and our people. Wherever such horrors are continued to be visited on us all, we will oppose you.

Destruction and violation of our earth, wherever, affects us all. New solutions must be found.

I have reviewed the maps and believe that route # 72 is the worst choice possible for the environment. It parallels one of the most pristine rivers in the east and transitions a remote forested mountainside near a state park and will be highly visible from Route 9 and other highways

This area is an important recreation area for hiking, hunting, canoing and I use it regularly. It is also the site of several conservation easements set up to protect this natural area.

This entire project exemplifies the power of corporate greed...something that I think all Americans have had enough of lately. West Virginia is the route of these lines because it has the least amount of regulatory oversight for things like this. This entire project is nothing short of an atrocity and rape of pristine forests, open spaces, wildlife habitat, the environment and historic and cultural sites not to mention homes and folks entire lives. In these tough times, the one thing that most Americans believe they can fall back on is their homes, whether financially or as sanctuary. STOP PATH!

The projected route of PATH in Jefferson County, WV will bring it right up the center of the Shenandoah Valley, then barely on the outskirts of Shepherdstown, the oldest town in WV, possibly destroying/damaging 17 communities, a shopping center, 9-11 sites on the National Register of historic places, then crossing the Potomac River and the C&O Canal National Park then skirting but in clear view of Antietam National Battlefield, one of the most solemn places in this country. AND we get NOTHING for it, except higher energy bills to pay for it while the power goes to Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington DC. Please don't allow this atrocity and rape of our beautiful and historic countryside be to the benefit of corporate greed...I think we all have seen enough of that lately.

The lines would provide enough transmission capacity for several new coal-fired power plants to operate. So, in addition to the damage done to streams and forests, the transmission lines would be devastating to air quality, local communities. This is a huge step in the wrong direction when both 2008 presidential candidates are calling for reductions in greenhouse gases.

It would be removing hundreds of acres of forest when it doesnt seem to be necessary. I feel that as much natural wildlife, as well as one's private property, as possible should be preserved within reason.

This line won't directly affect me, but will affect friends of mine. It's a senseless abuse of a state eager for money and ultimately is a pointless indulgence in state spending.

This project, as it stands right now will take away my whole back yard right up to my back porch,,,,, it will take away the whole reason for moving inot my neighborhood.... It will also take away the beautiful scenery all along it's route,,, Please join us in the fight agains PATH and write letters to all authorities that might ba able to push this destruction out of the State completely......

I understand the need to provide and transmit power to the urban areas but it should not be to the detriment of the rural areas. As seen from the air, the western side of Cacapon Mountain and River area is quite a resource for West Virginia. it may not seem that way from ground level but it certainly stands out in comparison with the rest of eastern WVa. Considering how stressed the Potomac River watershed is from pollution, rerouting or using existing right-of-way should minimize the impact on the Cacapon River and its watershed and in turn help the Potomac

Can't imagine we are still using the excuse of progress to destroy natures wonders and put people out of their homes. Especially if there is an alternative existing solution - needless destruction. Must be stopped.

It will destroy the home of my good friend and her family.

The PATH project will do our state more harm than good ecologically, financially and health wise. West Virginia residents have already had enough taken away from them.

It will effect me financially and healthwise. Some of my neighbors will have to move.

Being a resident of BEDINGTON in Berkeley county, WV this transmission line is going to adversely affect my entire family. My grandfather has been a farmer in Bedington all of his life. The lines will potentially be running through our land and too close to our homes. When I say my family, I mean that this will impact six different households. We have lived here all of our lives and I don't think it is right that we have to pay the price of losing the quality of our land and homes because of PATH. Being a farm family, the only thing we have to leave to our descedents is our land and way of life. PATH will completely destroy our chances of this!!!!

I object to the proposed powerline built on path (#72), which is expected to go through Largent and then along Cacapon Mountain parallel to the Cacapon River. This will be built by American Electric Power and Allegheny Power. I recommend that the company use exisiting power lines, or keep new powerlines on preexisting right of ways or on open farm land and by all means avoid proposed route #72.

When a new powerline can use already-existing lines, that is the obvious and logical choice, as well as the only one that makes sense for the environment. As a nature-lover, I beg you to please reconsider your current plans!

This power line will hurt property values in an area that does not need the power line. If a power line is needed, it should be buried or should follow the existing power line instead of destroying more land.

My family owns a cabin in Briary Bottom, which is between the Cacapon River and Cacapon Mountian. I have grown up in this cabin. The power line will disect Briary Bottom from Cacapon Mountian. Currently there is a exsisting power line right of way. Use it instead of destroying the mountian!!

I have long been a recreational visitor to that area-- camping, staying at rental properties, eating at area restaurants and biking the region. I would be very upset at so much land being cleared for a redundant powerline. If this happens, I would probably spend my recreational time and money elsewhere.

Your help is needed to prevent the destruction of pristine wildlands, home properties, farms and historic sites in Morgan, Berkeley, Jefferson and Hampshire Counties WV. WV will get NO benefit. It is bearing the cost of power greed. Although no line is best, an acceptable alternative would be underground lines.

One of the proposed routes for PATH goes through our property and will take out valubale woodlands and affect wildlife on our property. We oen 10 acres of land and carefully preserved woodlands in all but 1/2 acre of that property.
