The show "Bizarre Foods" with Andrew Zimmern, airs on The Travel Channel. Andrew goes around the world eating animals. The killing and death of the animals actually seems to excite him!
His motto: "If it looks good.... EAT IT!"
Andrew's menu: Guinea pig, green iguana, cow skin soup, chicken feet, cockroach, geoduck, snake penis, donkey, armadillo, bull testicles, tarantula, baby mice, raw cow heart, the beating bloody heart cut out of a live fish, live mealworms, grasshoppers, blood soup, beating frog hearts, lamb eyeballs, bats....just to name a few horrific dishes.
The animals are often hunted and killed right on camera in inhumane ways. These animals suffer, Mr. Zimmern and the Travel Channel profits! No mercy is shown to the animals, they are treated like objects, the people on the show act as if they were out picking apples! This is giving the audience the idea that animals are just here for the taking, we can kill and eat them all if we wish. Imagine the message is this show giving to young viewers?!--- Animals are food and nothing else!!??
We need to tell the Travel Channel and Mr. Zimmern that animals are not objects, they have feelings, they can hurt, and they do not deserve to die for profit and TV ratings!
He loves this restaurant in Beijing, China, where they torture and kill animals for greed. The Guolizhuang is also called The Penis Restaurant. They serve donkey, yak and seal penises, to name a few, and yes he eats them all!

Animals are sliced-up alive, their beating, bloody hearts ripped from their chests and consumed, still beating, by Andrew Zimmern! Imagine the pain, the suffering, the absolute horror these animals go though just for profit and ratings. It's cold, cruel, inhumane treatment of animals and should not be aired to the world. Please stop the animal abuse for the sake of these animals and the one's that will be killed in the future.

I saw this show and was trying to figure why it was ok for someone to eat living creatures on television. I'm not a vegetarian but eating things that are alive first is unnecessary and cruel. The show really is disgusting and I am still surprised it is on the air.
This show reminds me of how irrational and unnecessary "fear factor" was on fox a few years ago. Cruelty to animals to satisfy ones bored appetite is inhumane, period.
Zimmern has no respect for life.

STOP THIS IDIOCY. This is just another validation to me that humans ARE the evil on this planet. Ok you're going to eat the animal but for godfrey's sake kill it first. What the hell is wrong with people? Yes get it different beliefs, cultures, all over it, ok. But 99 percent of shows are not made to broaden our cultural understanding. It's for shock value and thus ratings. Wouldn't it have been great if Mr. Zimmer had taken the opportunity to say no thank you to this and help turn the tides toward awareness and kindness? There are a LOT of things that were once culturally or socially acceptable that are no longer considered so - it's called progress, give it a try.
FYI to anyone who can't wrap themselves around this concept - I have got some cutlery I'd like you to meet. Let's see how you feel about the issue once we've taken some nice fillets off of you. I'm sure these are the same people who have a break down over a paper cut. Ah you see now you've learned kindness and progress does not necessarily have to mean wimpy tree-hugging liberal. It's a good day when we can learn.
Mr. Zimmern, What you are doing is criminal. All creatures have a right to life,just as do humans. They are not "ours to use".

This program is not entertaining. Mr. Zimmern is a disturbed individual who seems to have no apparent regard for any living creature. I find his lack of understanding regarding animal welfare completely revolting. The program should be taken off the air.
