You've seen them all around the neighborhood. 

Valets waving flashlights, gaudy signs, and marked off areas of the street proclaiming VALET AREA ONLY.

But NBC LA 4's investigate report found that MANY of these Valets use ILLEGAL methods in monopolizing our already cherished parking spaces. 

1. Posting phony signs designating parking meters as "Valet Zone."
2. Sabotaging parking meters as to avoid parking fees.
3. Using cones to block off areas of parking meters.
4. Using patrons' cars to shuttle other Valet members around.
5. Getting a parking ticket in patrons' cars and not paying the ticket or making the patron aware.
6. Getting in an accident with a patrons' car and not notifying the owner.

Can't find a parking spot near your favorite restaurant? Maybe a Rogue Valet took it! 

Help STOP these Rogue Valets by signing the petition to URGE our Councilman Tom DeBonge to enact strict measures in curtailing such illegal practices.

Our tax dollars go to waste while Rogue Valets profit!  Let's take our parking spaces BACK!

We are concerned residents of your district where recently we watched NBC LA 4's investigative report regarding "Rogue Valets" found here:

ROGUE VALETS

As patrons of our local businesses and establishments, we encounter valets on a nightly basis.  To have offending valets turn a profit by obstructing (and in most cases defacing city property) not only causes extreme inconvenience to us residents trying to find a coveted parking space, but wastes our tax contributions in the form of:

• removal and fixing of illegal postings
  
• unpaid and contested parking fines due to valets not notifying car owners
  
• non oversight or taxation of valets illegally using public space for a profit

Amongst others.  In the instance in the video above, after the illegal signs were removed, they were right back up the next day. 

Mr. LaBonge we urge you to instill tighter measures to punish and control valets that operate using illegal means.  It will not only offer your members greater convenience to public parking spots, but allow our tax dollars to be utilized for greater productive means.
