Stop Selective Service from targeting your son OR daughter!

The drastically archaic Selective Service Act currently discriminates against boys and men.  However, a proposal is in place to also include women.  If you do not wish your son, daughter, sister, brother or grand daughter targeted for war by US. military recruiters, read on.

The current law has been in place since 1917 with subsequent outdated amendments, none of which are in line with modern thinking of "equality" or reflective of all the taxpayer dollars spent on robotics warfare technology, rendering need for physical strength totally mute.

Currently, the Selective Service Act requires all men in the U.S. ages 18-26 to register with the agency in order to keep a list of names in the case of a national emergency or need for draft.  Men who "fail to register" are denied special privileges dished out to women without this unjust stipulation, such as obtaining any financial aid for college.

The act is not working.  Millions of men across the country have become enlightened, and are rightfully refusing to register due to gender discrimination as well as strong morals against the violence of war.  Well over 3 million names have been referred to the Selective Service system for "violation" of registration.  Yet, nobody has been prosecuted since 1986.

Now, the Selective Service System is proposing to enact the "Universal National Service Act", which will require women to register for a potential draft as well.  While this would stop the discrimination against men, why add yet more innocent kids to this list of names, robbing them of their individual freedoms of choice and human rights?

The Selective Service act is unconstitutional as it stands, as it violates the equal employer opportunity act stating no employer can discriminate against sex, religion, physical or mental disability etc.  Yet adding women to the registration requirement would not result in a just and humane treatment of all the American people.  We are constantly bombarded with propaganda stating we are a "free country".  Where is the freedom of choice if anyone, boy or girl, is ordered to do something that could take away their life, rob them of their personal choice of career or go against their moral beliefs?

Unbeknown to many Americans, the US. is behind at least 10 other nations in overall freedom rating varying between economic freedom (ranked 9th and slipping), healthcare, education (many countries enjoy free college tuition), security and environmental justice.  Yet, the military industrial complex continues its heart and soul-wrenching slogan "fighting for our freedom and security".  playing on the emotions of the American people.

The Selective Service Act represents just one element of that loss of freedom and liberty.

Please sign this petition to ABOLISH THE SELECTIVE SERVICE ACT, stopping any requirements for registration for either gender.  Since we have had a "voluntary military" service since 1973, why not make registration a 100% voluntary act for anyone? The fact is, we could never go back to conscription on a political, ethical or moral standpoint anyway.
