STOP 'The Crow' From BEING RE-MADE

Target:
Edward R. Pressman & Associates
15 years ago, The Crow was filmed and when released became an instant cult classic. Actor Brandon Lee lost his life doing this film, in a role that has now become his signature film. The plans by Director Stephen Norrington to re-make the original film, using the same storyline, the name of the character (Eric's surname Draven was created for the original film), and most likely the same themes, visions and everything else, has angered many fans. The motives are one of greed and artistic ignorance. Trying to change both the feel and look of the original comic should also be protested against. Fans do not want this vision from Mr Norrington, and will not pay one cent to see such displays of exploitation.

After several failed attempts at trying to re-invent The Crow franchise, Edward R. Pressman has now decided that trying to re-create the magic of the first film will be enough to draw in profit. The fans do not want this film to be made. The original film has stood the test of time, and forever should be left alone to stand as a lasting memorial to a man who gave his life for this film.

WE DO NOT WANT THIS NEW FILM MADE AND WILL NEVER EVER SEE IT IF IT IS RELEASED. DO NOT SELL THE FILM RIGHTS, SHOW SOME RESPECT AND REAL EMPATHY AT LONG LAST FOR THE LEGACY OF MR BRANDON LEE AND DROP THE PLANS TO MAKE THIS FILM.

Mr Edward R. Pressman,

When The Crow was released in 1994, after the tragic yet PREVENTABLE death of actor Brandon Lee, you promised that this film was released for Brandon Lee and would always stand as his legacy. Fans respected that decision and through numerous attempts at other interpretation new storylines in the franchise, also supported that and YOU. However, the intentional re-make of the original film, the original character ON SCREEN which Brandon made his own and had so much input in, is not something that will be respected or tolerated by your key audience, who you would wish to see such a film. Brandon's film legacy cannot be re-created, his life is lost, this role will always be Brandon's.

While we as fans understand the realities of Hollywood, and how it is driven by greed, we also expect that anyone having been through the trauma and the experience of making the original film, and knowing how sacred and special this film and the role of Eric Draven was to Brandon, should now show some respect and empathy for his memory and legacy by remembering your original promise to fans in 1993 and 1994, and reserving this screen role forever Brandon's.

The Crow released in 1994, was visionary, creative and was powerful on an artistic as well as narrative level. It does not need to be re-created, and what is more, we feel any production will only cheapen, even weaken the legacy this film alone has left and the influence it continues to have on countless other. Many of whom now have sworn to not see this film if it goes ahead with production. No fans = no profit.

Look into your soul and make the best decision - for Brandon!

This would be a travesty to remake a movie from which a great and talented man had to give his life unwillingly for. I understand remaking may be a tribute for others but for me it would be like someone wanting to rewrite the "I Have A Dream Speech" or rewriting Beatles music, sure there are remixes and such but nothing is ever better than the original

"The Crow" has been and always will remain my favorite movie. The fact that True Love is played out so well in such a dark way has impacted my life in every aspect. Do not take for granted what you have for it can be taken away in the blink of an eye.

Keep Brandon Lee's legacy as it is. This movie does not need to be remade just so that some executive heads can line there pockets on the fact that someone special died while filiming the original. Do not fix what is NOT broken!

It's sick to think that the movie that ended Brandon's life is goin to be re-made. Let him rest in peace, and not let others know this movie for a re-make, but what it was. his last work and something he put his heart into.

It's simple an amazing movie! It is inspirational and makes a lot of people want to be a better person. His role as the Crow was one of the most moving, genius and heartbreaking performances ever. The fact that Brandon Lee died during the making of this film makes the character seem more real. His death was a great loss to those who new him. his fans and the movie industry. Brandon is the crow, nobody else x

This film is Brandon Lee's, without him in it? Its just not worth the effort. Why would anyone want to re-make something that is perfect the way it is? My teenage daughter loves this film! its defiantly not out dated. Amongst all the other reasons.. Show the man some respect, he lost his life making this film! It should be left alone as a tribute x Please leave it alone.

The film is nostalgic for me because I got to enjoy it with my brother after he returned from military service. But beyond that, the movie is simply amazingly moving. I do not typically like comic-to-movie transitions, but the soundtrack, the somber feel of the movie, the script, and the filmmaking techniques in this movie have made it one of my favorite movies of all time. It is an unforgettable movie with a mood all it's own, and IT SHOULD BE LEFT ALONE!

Personally, I think Hollywood needs to spend more time CREATING movies instead of plagiarizing them and stealing from old films and TV shows. Nearly every film we see nowadays is a "remake" of something old, as if Hollywood itself purports that anything not done this year is of no value. In the case of THE CROW, a remake would be a complete slap in the face not only to the legacy and memory of Brandon Lee and his father, but also to the creators who devised such a deeply moving film in the first place. Sure, use your computer animations, your new makeup techniques, and add more smut and filth and useless violence to your script - but all you'll be doing is making us appreciate the original all the more. Hollywood needs to hire writers that actually write - not those who can only re-hash the genius they've stolen from someone else. Let Brandon die in peace, and let this movie be what it was without trying to improve on something that is already great.

To me, it was a powerful story of a man who transformed into someone completely consumed with grief and on a quest for vengeance against those who took his life and his girlfriend's life. Knowing that Brandon Lee lost his life during the making of this film and how well the film has stood the test of time, I am outraged that Hollywood is attempting to recreate a movie that is already great on its own... an enduring cinematic monument to Brandon Lee's legacy and career. This man along with his father Bruce continue to inspire me to become a better person.

Because I see no point to remake a film that is already great. It is also a profound disrespect to Brandon's legacy, as if it's discounting his contributions when he was alive. After all, this man gave his life for The Crow. I do not wish to see The Crow remade into a typically asinine, mindless and utterly pointless film that will completely pale in comparison to the orginal film.

There is no possible way this movie being redone could even come close to doing it justice. A remake would be a travesty, complete disrespect to the work and to the fact that Brandon Lee gave his life in the making of the movie. This movie has a deep and profound meaning for many people and a remake would only taint the original as well as cheapen the meaning and message it carries for so many, myself included.

You can't remake a classic movie and have anything good from it. Leave it as it was, and the legacy of both the original movie, and those in it be preserved. Every sequel of The Crow was abysmal in the name of cashing in on the franchise. Do not let this be done.

Come on, Bruce Lee's son died in the making of it. I saw this movie finally for the first time last night. Its a very good movie. The only reason I can see to redo it is purely for profit and nothing else. Let the ONLY make of this movie stand as a tribute to Brandon Lee and the visual artistry that was all over this film. Leave it alone. Just leave it alone.

Loved the original film and was a huge bruce and brandon lee fan before the crow. I knew brandon was poised to be the NEXT king of action films after the crow sadly it never came about. We lost a great actor and a fantastic human being that day!

Simply put out of respect for the life and legacy of the lee family!

I just think it is one of the best movies that i have ever seen. it still saddens me that such a tragedy came of the making of it.

The crow should not be made because it could never do justice to the original and no one else deserves to redo what brandon lee done. After the tragedy of it all it should be left alone as great, but tragic.

It was a beautiful movie with an awesome cast. For such a dark movie, It was really romantic. We saw a different side of Brandon Lee.

It would be disrespecting Brandon Lee. It would be like if they made another Batman with a different Joker. Heath Ledger should be the last joker because he did a phemonenal job. As did Lee. It was the one role the audience remembers him by, and it should stay this way. If they do remake it, I will not go see it. Maybe I'll see it online so Pressman doesn't earn a cent from this film.

I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis that year and the film, among other things, made me want to continue to fight against this disease.

It would not be respectful at all and i would NOT see it.

i loved this movie so much when i first watched it i didnt know that brandon died till the end of the movie... the crow showed me that no matter what happens in your life just live it to the fullest cause some people you love might not be there all the time to help you

the reason i think it shouldnt be remade is cause for one there is no better then brandon lee for this movie... and it would be like saying an unkind word about brandon it would be a discrace to his name and legacey

The Crow is one of my favourite films ever. There are very strong theams used throughout the film to depict a mesage of love and justice. Watching Brandon's final and most outstanding performance is very emotional.

The Crow is an amazing film. It is perfect just as it is and is in no way 'out dated' and never will be. I think that the plans to re-make the film are all to do with making a profit and would be completely disrespectful to the legacy of Brandon Lee. R.I.P Brandon
