STOP 'The Crow' From BEING RE-MADE

Target:
Edward R. Pressman & Associates
15 years ago, The Crow was filmed and when released became an instant cult classic. Actor Brandon Lee lost his life doing this film, in a role that has now become his signature film. The plans by Director Stephen Norrington to re-make the original film, using the same storyline, the name of the character (Eric's surname Draven was created for the original film), and most likely the same themes, visions and everything else, has angered many fans. Fans worldwide of this film, comic and franchise have voiced their dismay to us, and we issue this petition on behalf of the fans, asking the creators to not re-make the film.
As it has been described by the potential filmmakers, the motives appear to be ones of greed and artistic ignorance. Trying to change both the feel and look of the original comic should also be protested against. Fans do not want this vision from Mr Norrington, and  fans will NOT pay one cent to see such displays of exploitation.

After several failed attempts at trying to re-invent The Crow franchise, Edward R. Pressman has now decided that trying to re-create the magic of the first film will be enough to draw in profit. The fans do not want this film to be made. The original film has stood the test of time, and forever should be left alone to stand as a lasting memorial to a man who gave his life for this film.

There are several alternatives the filmmakers could use, one of those is a literal translation of the graphic novel, which could use the character of "Eric" from the comic and not "Eric Draven" from the film. The other possibility would be to use as the basis for the film, the character of "Iris Shaw", which crow fans have asked for over many years. By using a new character, or going back to the comic, the filmmakers will be making full use of originality in their work, and the loyal fans would be behind the project enough to support something new. Dressing up Eric Draven in new make up, in a new city will not disguise that it will only be a cheapen reproduction of the original if attempted. Brandon's memory and the hard work of all those associated with the original film, and James O'Barr's hard work deserve much better.

Don't cheapen the memory for so many fans and show some respect AND empathy towards both Mr Lee's legacy and to the loyal fans who made your opportunities possible.
Thank you!

Mr Edward R. Pressman,

When The Crow was released in 1994, after the tragic yet PREVENTABLE death of actor Brandon Lee, you promised that this film was released for Brandon Lee and would always stand as his legacy. Your announcement to remake this film just 15 years after it's initial release has angered many.
Actor Brandon Lee lost his life doing this film, in a role that has now become his signature film. I love the movie. It has shown me what true love was. The fact that The Crow (Brandon Lee) came back to life to kill those who killed his fiance was truly romantic. No one would ever be able to act or do as good as Brandon Lee did as playing The Crow.

The movie was amazing with Brandon Lee in it no one would ever be able to play the part as well as he did. He died during the movie and the movie is in memory of Brandon Lee. NO ONE should EVER take that away from him.

The Crow, among other things, has taught me to value the things that are important in life and love my loved ones more every day. I think it's THE masterpiece in its own category and Brandon did an OUTSTANDING job playing Eric Draven!!!

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to improve on this cult masterpiece! So, stop proceeding with this stupid idea, because all of us, will NEVER see it, either on the cinema or on dvd!

bruce lee was the first martial artist i had ever seen and i was amazed at his disapline his films have given me many hours of enjoyment. i kew bruce was training brandon very young and i waited for him to grow up to see if he would be a credit to his father and he was.

it dosent need to be remade like so many other good films. i also think its direspectful to brandon as he died filming it they wouldnt remake enter the dragon and they shouldnt do it to this film either!

The Crow; is one of my favorite movies It has been since i was a little girl. The Crow inspires people to believe in Hope & true Love. The Crow also gives us hope that things will get better, and that Love always overcomes anything & everything else.

It is an insult that they would even consider redoing The Crow in the first place. The only reason The Crow is as classic as it is today was because of the performance by Brandon Lee. Brandon Lee died while making this film, and to remake it would be to insult his memory. It doesn't matter how many special effects you add to it, what cast you get to play it, it will never come no where near as close as how amazing & unforgettable the Original with Brandon Lee is. R.I.P Brandon Lee & THERE BETTER NOT BE A REMAKE OF THIS MOVIE PERIOD! End of story.

I've loved the movie since it came out in 1994. Its become an obsession of mine and its given me hope of real love.

Its almost an insult that they want to remake the movie and change what its about and the feel of it. Brandon Lee made that movie the classic that it is today. I dont support a remake of the first one at all. Not only is it in an insult to the work Brandon Lee did in the movie, but to the fans of the original movie as well as James O'Barrs original creation.

Brandon Lee made me want to be more fit. I lost 50+ lbs. because he influenced me after watching The Crow.

Why touch a masterpiece? To this day The Crow is still in my top 5 movies. It was made very well and executed it's purpose. All of the other Crow films did not even come close to the original. They just seem like they're trying to be like the first one. Even if they do make a new Crow film I know for sure that it will not do as well as the original. Don't worry. Happy Birthday Brandon Lee!

When The Crow hit theatres I went and saw the thing 20 plus times!!!..I never do that!..It has got to be one of the most darkest yet romantic movies I have ever seen...Nuff' said.

This remake trash is getting out of control..Studios are only showing that they have run out of ideas or are not willing to pay for new material to be written into script or screenplay.I pity all of these new corprate hacks whom have this perverse idea they are making their mark on the industry when It's movies like The Crow that will always be imprinted on your heart and soul. The remakes need to stop!!!

I cannot say the move impacted my life. It was just a terrific movie and one of my all time favorites.

I don't think there is another actor out there that could make the movie any better than Brandon did so why would anyone want to try. I disliked all the movies after the Crow anyway. Brandon made that movie what it is today and I think a remake would only be a joke.

It was a great movie but as to impacting my life, it has done very little in this way.

To honor the legacy of Brandon Lee this film must not be remade. Also for his remainning family & freinds this film should not be made. For this reson I call out to ALL film fans & comic fans to boycot this films (& to tell others NOT to see the film), for the respect & ameration of the Lee Famliy & freinds!!!

I saw the original movie 4 times in theaters and loved it. Great music and acting all around. I dressed as Eric Draven for Halloween one year. A true classic. I still check the net to see what news is out there about both the film and info on Brandon Lee. Also to see what his family and the other actors in that film are up to.

Complete disrespect to Brandon Lee. If there was ever a movie never to be re-made it is this one. It wouldn't do well and I wouldnt go to see it.

I first watched the movie when I was 12, and I loved it ever since. I adored Bruce Lee, and seeing a movie with his son, finding out later that it was his last, just thrilled me. He's a wonderful actor, and it's a shame that someone's foolishness ended his life.

NOTHING is wrong with it! It's fine the way it is, Hollywood is just too lazy to come up with new movie ideas.

It open my eyes to what the real world is like people killing other people and i think in reality something like the movie could really happen.

I like the original Brandon Lee did a great job and he will live on forever in our hearts it would be disrespectful if they did a remake leave the move alone the movie is the best film he made.

When The Crow came out I was in a deep depression. After watching the moved I realize that there was something to fight for in life now or after.

Why on God's green earth would anyone want to remake a great classic like The Crow. Brandon Lee was is and alway will be The Crow. I think they just need to leave it alone.

The Crow is a classic and needs to remain that way. There are some things that can never be redone.

Brandon Lee was the crow. it was the role he was meant to play. its like Christopher Reeve will always be known as Superman, the film is a classic and it must remain.

I feel the original The Crow movie "was" an original, and no person has or could do it better than Brandon Lee did- even with all the sequels. The movie opened my eyes to Brandon's talent, and made me re-reflect his talent in other movies. I realized He had the talent of His father Bruce, and met with the same untimely tragety to something He never got to see completion of, the same as His father did with Enter The Dragon. The only ones who got to see the finished product were the fans. Brandon Lee was really looking foward to this film, and was very proud of it, and lost his life because of sheer negligence of the set. He got to make this movie starting on His birthday, and was only 17 days away from being married with a few more days of filming left. His fiance' watched in horror as He was shot. His wedding invitation is now inscribed on His tombstone. He lost everything. Give Him the honor of THE TRUTH. He was worth so much, lost so much, and no person could do that movie any better than He did. Add all the twists and turns you want to it- there are only one originals- HE was it. True Crow fans know this. Once Brandon Lee enters your life- or His Father does in anyway- they never leave. They leave their imprint of originality and excellence.

It was Brandon's pride, and lost His life for it.

Forever Brandon. Forever The Crow. The Crow and Brandon will always be in my heart and his performance will not ever be forgotten. I was at a young age, like most, when I first watched The Crow and it will always be in my fondest memories of that time and is one of the very few movies that was and still is distinct with my love for rock music, comic books and the atmosphere of the movie. I have not seen any of the other Crow movies, and don't ever want to, because I knew and felt that what ever it was going to be wouldn't come close to brandon and the original.

Brandon Lee embodied Eric Draven and The Crow and should forever be remembered and kept with him. Out of repect and love it should not be remade. Exquisite Perfection. Cannot ever be redone. True originality is so rare. No one can do what Brandon did. Ever. His acting, mannerisms, the embodiment. True Draven is forever Brandon.

the crow is one of my FAVORITE movies. Im so sick of all my favorite movies being remade. The Crow being remade is a slap in the face to everyone involved. A massive impact, this film made on my life, and all things that I believe in...........Brandon Lee's last film!! And he was also the son of the great Bruce Lee what more can i say.... The film has a very spiritual meaning and should never be remade..........there is never anything as valuable or as good as the original concept, idea and realization; this film was a masterpiece you will never make it better !! So why try ???

Nobody with any common sense would buy a remake of the film, firstly it is an insult to original cast........secondly has no one gotten respect for the dead I.E. Brandon Lee 3rdly you can't improve on perfection...next thing you'll be telling us is that the Star wars trilogy is going to be remade with different actors F%$K that.!!! I think i've made my point !!!

That movie is the basic idea of what every person in love is prepared to go through/do for the one they love and who are meant to be with. That film has touched my heart and the fact that Brandon Lee died making this movie has an even greater impact on me! He lost his life making a power movie that has reached and is loved my millions of people.

Pure and simple, you can not recreate the power Brandon Lee delivered to this film! He was the perfect person for that role and the only one who brought Eric Draven to life. He is the only one that could pull off the strong message behind the film and since he lost his life making the film it would be immoral to try and replace it with some new age crap! Not everything in this world needs to be modernized to reach millions of people. Leave the movie alone! You should only fix things that need fixing, this movie is perfect! No need to remake it, none at all!

it was one of the first r rated movies i watched and loved as a kid. i think this movie still holds up as one of the best american movies EVER!

it would be a travesty to remake this movie cause its the movie that made brandon lee a star and theres no need to remake and destroy the perfect movie that it is. the man lost his life making this amazing movie.......its his movie......and no one should be able to take that away from him.

I have seen this movie too many times to count. I'm watching it right now, even. It has been and will remain my favorite movie forever. The philosophy has inspired my first tattoo; something that will be on my body forever.

Remaking this Miraculous movie would not only disgust me personally, but it would insult Brandon Lee's memory. Doing this will never be forgiven.

I think that the movie show's that people should live there live to the fullest and make every little thing that happen's in there life count..They should take nothing for granite and appreciate everything in this world because when were gone from here who know's what it will be like in the after-life...That's what i've got from the movie....

You won't find anyone who can portray the passion and dedictation of a person in morning sent back to right what was wronged from them in there life...
