STOP 'The Crow' From BEING RE-MADE

Target:
Edward R. Pressman & Associates
15 years ago, The Crow was filmed and when released became an instant cult classic. Actor Brandon Lee lost his life doing this film, in a role that has now become his signature film. The plans by Director Stephen Norrington to re-make the original film, using the same storyline, the name of the character (Eric's surname Draven was created for the original film), and most likely the same themes, visions and everything else, has angered many fans. The motives are one of greed and artistic ignorance. Trying to change both the feel and look of the original comic should also be protested against. Fans do not want this vision from Mr Norrington, and will not pay one cent to see such displays of exploitation.

After several failed attempts at trying to re-invent The Crow franchise, Edward R. Pressman has now decided that trying to re-create the magic of the first film will be enough to draw in profit. The fans do not want this film to be made. The original film has stood the test of time, and forever should be left alone to stand as a lasting memorial to a man who gave his life for this film.

WE DO NOT WANT THIS NEW FILM MADE AND WILL NEVER EVER SEE IT IF IT IS RELEASED. DO NOT SELL THE FILM RIGHTS, SHOW SOME RESPECT AND REAL EMPATHY AT LONG LAST FOR THE LEGACY OF MR BRANDON LEE AND DROP THE PLANS TO MAKE THIS FILM.

Mr Edward R. Pressman,

When The Crow was released in 1994, after the tragic yet PREVENTABLE death of actor Brandon Lee, you promised that this film was released for Brandon Lee and would always stand as his legacy. Fans respected that decision and through numerous attempts at other interpretation new storylines in the franchise, also supported that and YOU. However, the intentional re-make of the original film, the original character ON SCREEN which Brandon made his own and had so much input in, is not something that will be respected or tolerated by your key audience, who you would wish to see such a film. Brandon's film legacy cannot be re-created, his life is lost, this role will always be Brandon's.

While we as fans understand the realities of Hollywood, and how it is driven by greed, we also expect that anyone having been through the trauma and the experience of making the original film, and knowing how sacred and special this film and the role of Eric Draven was to Brandon, should now show some respect and empathy for his memory and legacy by remembering your original promise to fans in 1993 and 1994, and reserving this screen role forever Brandon's.

The Crow released in 1994, was visionary, creative and was powerful on an artistic as well as narrative level. It does not need to be re-created, and what is more, we feel any production will only cheapen, even weaken the legacy this film alone has left and the influence it continues to have on countless other. Many of whom now have sworn to not see this film if it goes ahead with production. No fans = no profit.

Look into your soul and make the best decision - for Brandon!

when i first saw the crow, i was blown away. it was the greatest movie of all time and brandon lees role was just phenomial.

i feel that i marimax remakes the crow it wont be the same. it would be a discrace to brandon lee. it would be dishonoring his legacy. no matter what people say the crow is brandon lees movie. nobody could play the part of eric draven better than he did.

The Crow is a wonderful movie, all others have been nothing more then flops, why would you ruin the name of The Crow? Brandon Lee would turn in his grave if this remake goes through

It's flat out blaspheme

There is no reason for the Crow to be remade. Brandon was a great actor and the movie should stay as is as a memorial and tribute to him.

When I saw the film I was 15 years old and I sat down to watch the movie and I loved everything about it. Also know that Brandon Lee was killed during the making of the movie it was such a great film and it ment so much to me as a young girl. I have seen all of his other movies and I alway will remember him as Eric Draven.

Because this is Brandon Lee's last movie besides the movie Sex, lögner & videovåld which he was Man in line to night club. He should be remeber for the last role that he was in. I am afraid if they remake it they are going to mess it up. So PLEASE DO NOT REMAKE THE CROW so everyone can see the 1994 version and see it for the great film it is.

The year was 1994 and I was 18 years old. When I saw The Crow, I was so inspired by it, I began to research how the filmmaker was able to pull off an amazing film without Brandon Lee. I quickly learned that the secret was in the editing, and I instantly knew I wanted to learn more about filmmaking.

If you're a "filmmaker" or if you're one of those producers who is trying to remake this film ... DON'T DO IT. Instead, you should re-release the original film in a digital format (JPEG-2000), and distribute it to digital theaters across the US. You won't lose anything if you do this. Take my word for it. Digital cinema has come a long way, and if you re-release the original film on the big screen again (in a digital format), you will not only gain the respect of many Brandon Lee fans/followers, but you will also be known as someone who had the balls to do something different. It will change the way Hollywood makes films and preserves films. The Crow is a memorial to the actor Brandon Lee, and it should be respected as such. As a devoted movie-goer and a student of motion picture and video; I strongly suggest those who want to remake 'The Crow' to reconsider what there doing and try to come up with something original for once. Otherwise, you'll be known as another unoriginal hack in Hollywood who was trying to make a quick buck. People won't know you or respect you as someone who's trying to keep people working. Sorry, but that's the harsh truth.

I support the STOP The Crow From Being Re-made petition 100%. I've lost count how many times i've seen the movie. I even had Graeme Revells fantastic score played at my wedding. To me Brandon Lee was Eric Draven. Brandon put his heart and soul into that performance. To have a remake I think would take something away from that. RIP. Brandon. I'll never forget you.

We've already had various sequals, and not one of them came close to capturing the spirit of the original. The Crow should be remembered as a fitting tribute to Brandon Lee and all the great performance's and hard work that created a classic of modern cinema. RI.P. Brandon

My brother was the person that got me into the crow. As a kid I wasnt into it at first but he had me sit down with him and watch it one day, ever since then I have been hooked. Bought all the comics, graphic novels, other movies which weren't as good. The rings, figures and even based my current relationship around it. If this movie gets remade it might just turn into another remake gone wrong and for that to happen to this movie that means so much to alot of people would be unfair

The message of the film, about Divine Love, caring, that a balance must be struck between good and evil, that evil exists only if good people stand by and do nothing and the appreciation of every moment of our lives, was made perfectly the way Brandon, the cast, and Proyas made the movie originally. It went beyond the pure vengeance of the comic whilst seeming to bring out what O'Barr had really wanted to show. The story has been told, and as Brandon said about "copying"... it's pale compared to the original... you have to be yourself... not try and do something that has already been done... perfectly! :)

As above... Because it's been done. It aint broken... so don't fix it. There must really be a lack of ideas in this world.... time for writing school... we live in the time of the clones and the sequel... it won't last forever... You can't clone all the time... hehehehe Peace, Love and Light :)

A remake of this film would be disrespectful to Brandon Lee. He work in the 1994 film should stand the test of time! He was a wonderful actor and should be remember for this film. His best and his last!

I thought it was very touching movie. It showed me Brandon put his heart and soul in this moive And there is only 1 Brandon Lee!!!

To me it is very desrespectful to make make a second movie. Brandon Lee is no longer with us he is in our hearts to neaver be replaced.

I saw this film when I was 11. Infact I still own the VHS tape. This film brought tears to my eyes and made me realize that the world is not fair. You only get one shot in life and it passes by slowly so make good use of the time.

You cannot replace Brandon Lee. The idea of even considering a remake of this movie just makes me vomit. Brandon Lee would roll over in his grave if a remake was made.

# 1,130:

Brandon Lee gave his very LIFE in the making of this film. It should be left as is in his memory. In my opinion, Brandon Lee will forever be THE Crow, there won't ever be another. You could remake the film 20 times but no one will ever come close to being as amazing as he was in the role of Eric Draven. Remakes will never see a hot cent from my pocket, nor the pockets of any of the other fans, I assure you.

The film was Brandon Lee's true calling. It makes me wonder how Brandons fiancé Eliza Hutton felt and how Brandon career would have been which I honestly believe it would have been great! RIP Brandon

No one can pull this film off the way Brandon Lee did. This was his legacy! He cannot be replaced!

I LOVE The Crow, the sequals were horse crap! You CAN NOT Top The Original!! I DEFINITELY KNOW That would be a HUGE Disgrace to Brandon and his family if The Crow was Remade. If the Real Fatal Shot Scene Was Deleted then, what's the problem?

"If it's not broke, then don't fix it." There's nothing wrong with the original film that needs to be changed, re-made, etc. For those who's minds are filled only with dollar signs, how about releasing a Crow boxset or collector's edition... but PLEASE!! STOP TARNISHING THE LEGACY OF CLASSIC FILMS BY RE-MAKING THEM YEARS LATER & PRETENDING LIKE IT'S ORIGINAL, WHEN IT'S NOTHING MORE THAN A PATHETIC ATTEMPT FOR EASY PROFIT.

The crow should NOT be remade. Brandon Lee died for this film and remaking it would be putting his name in vain.

I am a huge fan of Brandon Lee and all his movies, but The Crow is and always will be my favorite movie of all time.

The Crow should not be remade simply because the true followers of this movie will not purchase or even watch this film. Brandon died making this movie and should be respected. The sequels have all tanked so why waste the money when true Crow fans will dismiss it.

this film means alot to me and has seen me through many bad times...i just watch Brandon and the thought of him losing his young life brings a tear to my eye everytime

u cant improve on perfection, and it would be a shame to ruin a good movie and not to mention the injustice it wud cause

seeing this movie as a young man had a profound effect on my life. it is a movie that haunts me to this day and carrys with it a beautiful kind of sadness,it is a unique film with a powerful message

The sequals to the first movie were second rate at best, they never managed to live up to the first one and i doubt the remake would do any better. brandon lee was a beautiful person and there will never be someone like him in our life time to fill that role, we can all learn something from him and should respect his legacy. he is the only eric draven.

i can never get bored watching that movie and falling in love with Brandon Lee over and over again, the dream of a man loving you so much he would come back and kill everyone that cased your death what more could a women asked for.

you can not replace Brandon Lee, if you remake the movie its like killing him over again, you can not remake a cult classic. be original make a movie we have not seen before and not kill ones that are ready untouchable........

The crow has been my favorite film for 15 years. The dark imagery, the gothic look and the story of a man who is given the chance to take revenge on those who murdered him and his love are what makes it a great film. Although this film was adapted from a comic book series, Brandon Lee defined and perfected the main character and the rest of the actors made it what it is.

To remake this film would not only be an insult to Brandon Lee, but also would be impossible to recreate. It doesn't matter who the actors are or who writes the script or how much money is put into it. The Crow is what it is because of the time it was made, the people who were involved at the time and most notably because Brandon Lee played the character so well and lost his life during the film. Even if the movie wasn't about money they should still leave it alone.

I've grown up on the crow, and crow sequels. I have been apart of the crow franchise, being a lifetime member of the crow forum and fighting for it's right to not just be "some movie" this movie is actually a heart. It pumps the blood for all those who have loved, lost, or who WILL love and lose.

It SHOULD NOT be remade becuase then it will lose all credibility. It will NEVER have the same impact as it did so many years ago. You will lose teh die hard fans and gain imposters. There are thousands of Fan-made remakes, and those are fine, infact thay're wonderful. But that doesnt give a right for hte Big Bad corporation to do it themselves. STOP DOING REMAKES AND COME UP WITH YOUR OWN DAMN IDEAS!!!!!!!!!!

# 1,106:

This film inspired me. I am an actor myself and Lee's performance in this film really hit home for me. He showed how someone can be so good and do such terrible things. Lee mesmerized me.

Please, don't remake the crow. Use the idea of someone coming back for love but please, don't retell the story of Eric Draven. If the remake comes through there will be a constant comparison between old and new. Don't do this to Brandon. Please.

# 1,105:
7:04 am PDT, Oct 29, Name not displayed, Illinois
The movie was released 4 months after my best friend died to neglect and emotional abuse. While it broke my heart at the time, it was cathartic. It gave me a little bit of faith in humanity. Brandon's performance and loss made that faith even more poignant.

I think re-releasing this movie would demean the sacrifice Brandon gave making it. It would devalue the the mystique and singularity of the original. I won't go to it. I won't rent it, I won't own it. Just like the other two movies, I have no care for anything else trying to recapture and replace one brilliant moment.

# 1,104:

It gave us all something to hope for, knowing no matter what happens in life, someone will always be there waiting for us. The Crow inspired me to love life more and more everyday and to never take things for granted, no matter how small or how bad they may be. It made me feel again, and made me realize that love is the strongest feeling of all.

Not only is it my favorite movie of all time, it's a one of a kind film that was lead by a brilliant actor, gone way before his time. It's a film that has very strong and confident followers who absolutely adore Brandon Lee and his work in the movie. Not only is the movie one of a kind, but we lost a one of a kind person when the accident happened that took his life and shocked the world. Not only would it be a disrespect to the franchise but it would be a slap in the face to the original cast not to mention Brandon would be rolling in his grave. He left a legacy behind that has only been tarnished by horrible sequels and I'm pretty sure that's not the way it's supposed to happen. It's a movie of morals and feeling, please don't destroy this film, it's only been around 15 years. If anything, make another crappy film and slap the name on it for god's sake. This film has changed so many lives including my own.

# 1,103:

It should not be re-made because Brandon Lee literally put his life into The Crow, and the rest of the crew for that movie was one of a kind and they made that movie what it was

I saw the film for the first time when i was 8 years old...from then on the film has been life changing in every sense of the word..I've worn crow make up every year for halloween, the concept the story the pain the joy everything has held a significance and bearing in my life, brandon lee is a true inspiration.

This film should NOT be remade the story shouldn't be changed and if O'Barr and Pressman allow this they will be tarnishing a legacy and also tarnishing every significant part of someones life...greed alone will only get you so far and that would make you no better than top dollar. This is brandon lee's domain he gave his life and love and sweat and blood to this film...don't take that away from him please.

# 1,101:

Impact? The movie was fuckin' LIFE CHANGING. Since the first time seeing the movie I've put on crow makeup randomly, just because I adore the concept of the movie. Not to mention how spectacular the movie was all 'round.

Well of course it shouldn't be re-made! Is nothing in this world is sacred anymore!? The entertainment industry is a play on words itself! It's not "entertainment" more like, "herd the sheep into a mainstream piggy bank". I have little to base myself on, and one of those things is The Crow. I'm willing to do anything to stop this abomination of a "re-make"
