Stop the Fowlerville Family Fair Rodeo!

For years the Fowlerville Family Fair has been a great place to have fun and share the last of the summer with friends and family. Special arrangements have been made in honor of Fowlerville’s 125th annual fair, but this has gone too far. This year a rodeo will be held on Friday, July 29th, 24 semi-professional cowboys will attempt to stay on the backs of a bull for as long as possible. This is immensely straining on the animal and is a danger to both people and animals. Not only this, but there will also be junior bull riding included, which means young kids will be getting onto a sheep and trying to hold on for as long as they possibly can. To have a screaming and kicking kid latched onto your back while you frantically attempt to kick them off is not only causing much anxiety and frustration for the animal but will also be very dangerous for the kids involved. The purpose of this petition is to end the rodeo at the Fowlerville Fair this upcoming year for the sake of the animals and the people participating in the act… Thank you very much for your time.

I was appalled to learn that this year the Fowlerville Family Fair will be hosting a cruel rodeo for entertainment purposes. Sheep and bulls should not have to endure this torment and it is not safe for either the person riding or the animal that is being ridden. I urge you to find other ways of entertainment that do not require such cruelty. Having a person clamped onto your back whooping and hollering while you frantically try to throw them off creates a lot of anxiety for both the animal and the person. Please ban the rodeo from the fair this year...
