Last year during a visit to British Columbia Canada to see the amazing GRIZZLY BEARS that still survive there, I was horrified to discover that the provincial government, which prides itself on its green credentials. still allows extensive commercial hunting of these icons of the wilderness.
There is no rhyme or reason to this.The hunters don't eat the bears. The money they bring to BC is much less than the dollars that wild-life loving tourists bring in.The majority of BC residents oppose the hunt. It,s just that the politicians in charge are beholden to the hunters and keep these arcane policies in place to keep them happy.
