From June 23, people around the world will be writing to their local Australian Embassy to highlight the suffering inflicted on sheep sent to the Middle East for slaughter.
International condemnation of the live export trade is one of the most powerful ways to tell the Australian Government that the inhumane transport, handling and slaughter of millions of Australian sheep every year is simply not on.

I am at a loss to understand why this cruel trade is still being practised. I believe after a 60 minutes report and public outcry some time ago live exports were ceased pending investigation. What happened with the investigation? I think the government mentioned they would not allow Australian sheep/cattle to be mistreated but how could they possibly guarantee this? Unfortunately for the animals being mistreated it appears live trade continues today. Was the government just waiting for us to forget the headlines, hoping all would blow over. The International community and most Australians see just how cruel this practice is. When will the Australian Government???

I don't understand how this awful treatment could be allowed. I am at a loss. I believe that the human race can sink no lower. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on you Australia. I once upon a time wanted to visit your country, however, now I will not sink so low as to do that. You need to clean up your act, and become civilized.
