The protest against the cruel live export of Australian sheep to the Middle East is about to become global.
From June 23, people around the world will be writing to their local Australian Embassy to highlight the suffering inflicted on sheep sent to the Middle East for slaughter.
International condemnation of the live export trade is one of the most powerful ways to tell the Australian Government that the inhumane transport, handling and slaughter of millions of Australian sheep every year is simply not on.
If you have friends overseas who will want to join you in ending this trade, please forward them this email.
They simply need to click on the link below to find all the information they need to lodge their protest and show the Australian Government that the world condemns our live export of sheep.
And if you would like to help closer to home, you can take action in several ways, including downloading a petition to get your friends to stand up for our country's animals.
So I truly hope you can join us in ending live export, which continues to tarnish Australia's otherwise good reputation for animal welfare.
Thank you for helping create a world where animals matter and animal cruelty ends.

Still I am not knowing why human beings greed for eating flesh even after every thing is available which is good for human being! unless and until we became consuming the locally available food materials especially fruits, nuts and vegetables, the cruelty will continue which in turn will reflect in each of us. there will be situation of same kind in our life also. This is not joke but is experience.

What is wrong with these inhumane idiots - exporting live animals is barbaric cruelty - where is the care and compassion - does it cost too much? Does it cut into the profit margin? These poor terrified animals suffer all the long journey to their deaths... Can they not be killed humanely in Australia, on the farm and then the carcass sent to other countries??? Who wants to eat meat which has suffered all this stress??? Wake Up!!! Stop this needless suffering NOW!!!

I am appalled by the continuation of the live sheep export trade. It is barbaric, inhumane and not a practice in which Australia should be involved in the 21st Century. It should stop immediately. There is plenty of scope for sheep to be slaughtered appropriately in Australia without the need to put them through this cruel and senseless process.

Please put an end to this inhumane, unnecessary practice. If the economy must rely on the meat trade and animal exports, there are other ways to achieve this. Please consider this request seriously, don't take the easy way and ignore it as more animal rights activists fighting for a lost cause... I urge you, please watch the footage and have some compassion!

As an Australian, I am appalled and ashamed of our continued involvement in this disgusting practice. I believe as a developed country whose economy is not reliant on live trading , we should be setting the international standard as one of the fore-thinking nations of the world. Instead the Australian Government continues to support what is essentially a barbaric and outdated trade. I urge you to make a stand and support the ideals of a new and supposedly enlightened regime.

This should have been stopped a long time ago. Thousands of animals (mainly sheep) die during transportation to Egypt due to heat/cold, starvation and ill health. When they arrive at their destination they are treated in the most barbaric way. No mercy or compassion, it makes you weep. Look up Animals Australia and you will have a shock.

Dear Mr Rudd,
One of the reasons I voted for you in the last election was your promise to review the live exort industry. It is an industry which repulses most Australians and you have it in your power to do something about it.
Is money really everything? What about humanity and decent standards?
I find it disgraceful that farmers and their associated agencies have the only input into this outdated and plain wrong practice.
Please honour your election promise and review/overhaul this pathetic industry. Australia doesn't need it!
Kind regards,
Jacqui
