We the undersign would appreciate it if the City Council of Penang would take into consideration to humanely euthanize and not shoot the stray animals and also to collaborate with local animal shelters to give the strays a possible chance of being rehomed.

Shooting stray dogs on the spot is just inhuman. If they are causing a nuisance, then please bring them back to the pound and give them a chance to be adopted. My personal experience some years ago was traumatic. There was a homeless puppy that I had slowly won my heart. I was seriously considering adopting it and then one evening it was gone. My husband and I called all the various organizations and was assured no such exercise was carried out at my area and that they don't shoot dogs on the spot. But my neighbors confirmed that they shot the poor puppy on the spot along with several other dogs. Please ensure human practices is enforced and that trigger happy personnel who gets a thrill from killing is removed from your workforce. Thank you
