Save the poor animals from getting homeless..

Stop the shut down of Mother's Heart NGO (Kolkata)

Target:
Municipal Corporation, Kolkata
Sponsored by:
Mother's Heart is an NGO based in Kolkata, India which has been campaigning  the cause of supporting, rescuing and healing stray animals.
The Municipality has called for a shut-down notice of the NGO: because the barking dogs cause "noise pollution" despite the court issuing a stay order granting Mother's HEart some time to vacate the premises and relocate the dogs to another property they are trying to buy.
This is a little effort from our side to save the lives of many stray dogs on the streets, as well as over 50 dogs which have been adopted by the NGO,and are at the Mother's Heart dog care which is up for closure.
You must appreciate that Mother's Heart is taking the stray animals off the streets and localities, where the diseases, infection and population of the animals would increase at a much higher rate, and would thereby cause more trouble. There are over hundred dogs (pets and stray) who are brought in for treatment, cared for and nurtured for at Mother's Heart every month.
It is cruel to shut down this organization, giving whimsical reasons such as "noise pollution" and "dirtying the drains".
the local councillor has told the NGO that they have to shut down in FIVE days time and the dogs can be released on the roads or they should be put down.

raise ur voice. Sign this petition..And do write a mail to kmc@vsnl.net in to protest. if you get time..

We request the municipality to expand their thought horizon and not make these many animals homeless. The least the municipality can do is extend the imposed deadline for closure.

They should respect peoples wishes no matter what they think. They should be trying every way possible to keep animals from becoming extinct instead of shutting down organizations people are starting to try and help this problem.

They are people who dont give a damn about anybody but themselves. These people are heartless, conceited, selfish, stupid people who only think negative things towards animals. If everyone would pitch in a little we could probably save these animals and keep them from becoming extinct. If only some of those people who refuse to help would step up and be a real person and help us out. we could possibly have a chance to save them.

I am very concerned with your heartless treatment of this shelter Mother's Heart, please show compassion to animals and give them the time the need to relocate.

to through the shelter animals back on the street is not acceptable, they have suffered enough! Please give them more time to relocate, be humane and bring good Karma on you!

I think the municipal officials are knowledge less and they are lack of skills to take a good step on this issue. My direct question to them is "if their children cry or yell at their homes what is he going to do?". Will he take the same step.

Mother's Heart NGO are doing a great job in saving homeless animals and finding new homes. What is more of a problem - a little noise from barking or an increase in stray dogs walking the streets, dying on the streets and spreading disease on the streets. Please have some sense and allow this wonderful organisation to continue doing the great job that they do.

I can't understand how people, such as yourselves, can think that it's acceptable to leave animals dying on the streets. I don't understand the thought pattern that your life is any more important in this world than an animals. May be if you were dying and screaming in pain it would annoy others. Stop and really think about who is suffering here.

I am disgusted at the Municipal Authorities for even thinking of closing Mothers Heart, due to silly excuses like ''Noise Pollution''. You must NOT CLOSE MOTHERS HEART. Mother's Heart is taking the stray animals off the streets and localities, where the diseases, infection and population of the animals would increase at a much higher rate, and would thereby cause more trouble. There are over hundred dogs (pets and stray) who are brought in for treatment, cared for and nurtured for at Mother's Heart every month. It is so cruel and terrible to suggest putting these animals to sleep after all they have come through. They have been subjected to misery, poverty, and illness on the street and must not be released into a life of misery again. These animals also deserve to LIVE NOT DIE,and should not be put to sleep. LET MOTHERS HEART STAY OPEN,these dogs deserve a chance to live and enjoy life. I am so disgusted that India regards its animals in such a way. I have just cancelled my holiday in Delhi open hearing this, and I will NEVER AGAIN spend my tourist money in India. I am spreading the word about this and am boycotting all Indian products and urging everyone I know to do the same. Has India no compassion for its animals?, I am shocked and disgusted. I cannot protest enough, LEAVE MOTHERS HEART OPEN TO CONTINUE DOING THE EXCELLENT JOB IT IS DOING SAVING VULNERABLE,STARVING ANIMALS. Sincerely,Ava Sheridan
