Stop The Toxic Injection Wells

Target:
TCEQ to deny Texcom's permit applications  / request

Citizens Residents Oppose Well - CROW
Mission Statement:

To protect one of our most precious commodities:  WATER

To promote safe and clean drinking water for 54 Counties

To protect our children from environmental harm

To promote responsible and safe toxic waste disposal
To hold accountable those that pollute and misuse our water resources

Sign our petition to request that the TCEQ deny the permits currently before review with regard to the TexCom Gulf Disposals/Foxborough Energy/Montgomery County Environmental Solutions, LLC for
Non-Hazardous and Hazardous Waste Disposal.

This location is poorly sited and MUST be stopped.  If these wells are approved they have the potential of contaminating the water supply for 54 counties in the Gulf Coast Region.

This includes but not limited to: Montgomery County: Conroe, The Woodlands, Kingwood, Spring, Tomball; parts of Harris County including Houston, Beaumont and more.

There are hundreds of old abandoned oil wells (many have no documentation with the Railroad Commission because they date back to the 1930's), fault lines, and fissure make this site an evironmental disaster waiting to happen. One of the largest facing our region today.

The TOXIC waste being pumped under the aquifers that supply clean water to the Gulf Coast is at high risk of migration into these water sources.  The Citizens (CROW), Montgomery County, The Woodlands, City of Conroe, Lone Star Ground Water Conservation District and the local elected officials are all fighting to get these permits STOPPED.

Help us safeguard our children and our future from environmental harm. Help us protect our water.

Sign this petition and pass it on to all your contacts. Anyone living in Texas can sign this.  This is about protecting all Texans and our rights to safe and clean water.

Thank you!

Dear Texas Commission of Environmental Quality Commissioners:

We are Texas residents asking you to uphold your mission statement and protect us.

DENY the Texcom permit application for the toxic injection wells in Montgomery County.

The location does not meet the proper critiria for this type of disposal facility.  The risk factors for this location are too many and too high to risk the lives of millions.

The hundreds of old (1930's) abandoned oil wells, fault lines and fissures fail this location from proper siting of  Class 1 injection wells.  The aquifers that will be affected supply the drinking water for 54 counties in the Gulf Coast Region.  Montgomery County being one of them is also one of the largest and fastest growing counties in Texas.

The Woodlands with 86,000 residents would also be affected not to mention Kingwood, Houston, Beaumont and many others.  The contamination of these aquifers would be catastrophic.

This location is also in the middle of a residential area and to have 50-100 trucks of toxic waste traveling the same roads with our school busses seems like criminal negligence.

We hope you will protect and serve the residents of Texas as you have been appointed to do and DENY these permits.   Protect our clean and safe drinking water and safeguard our children from environmental harm.

Thank you,
Concerned Residents of Texas

We oppose Texcom's permit application for deep well injection in Montgomery county. Water is our most precious resource and we cannot afford to have it contaminated with hazardous materials.

I live in Montgomery County and am highly concerned. All the evidence shows that previous wells in other areas/cities/states have been breached causing dire harm to citizens that were duped into thinking that these wells are breach-proof. There is no proven evidence of safety, only the word of the company leaders. Citizens/residents cannot put their and loved ones lives on the line based on someone's word.

Knowing what we know today about the shortage of clean water for the inhabitants of this great state, how could this toxic injection wells permit be approved? The negative impact that these toxic wells will have in the 54 Gulf Coast counties may not occur within the next five years but please be assured they will occur at a time in which our clean water resources will be limited.

Our water supply is too precious to risk it for waster disposal. Alternatives are too few. History tells us the related procedures are not fail safe. They are subject to error and time deterioration. Please protect our residents, not commercial interests which desire to utilize underground storage. I have been in the oil and gas industry way too long to subject my family's drinking water to human error.

Lou Ross has spun his technical jargon to attempt to work in his favor - trying to sell the public on the fact that the chemicals are NON-hazardous. Well they are classified as Non-hazardous by the EPA standards and regulations. BUT they are still toxic chemicals to the environment and people. IF they weren't toxic, then we could just pour them down our damn drain. I CHALLENGE Holden McCrutch to drink a diluted glass of some of the chemicals that Lou Ross will be injecting into the ground. Just because the injection is 6000 feet deep doesn't mean it won't leak - YOU REDNECK FOOL -You must work for good 'ole Lou or something...Who's getting paid here. I would love to educate you but I don't know if an idiot fool like yourself can be educated. Don't you understand politics and the game being played here. Just because the Admin Law Judges recommended to permit doesn't mean they are right. Drive up to Winona TX and see the devestation. The TCEQ granted those permits - were they right in doing so - obviously NOT. You are a FOOL.

Get a life CROW...from what i've read, the injection depth is ~ 6000 feet where there is a 1200-1500 foot layer of jackson shale above and below that buffer the deposit area. there's no way in hell that the non-hazardous wastewater (that's what it is, not toxic waste as your website lies about)can migrate to the aquifer that 1000's of feet above the injection area. your only strategy is to create an unsubstantiated fear to get your way. SOAH judges heard all sides and recommended the permits. do you really believe that they didn't listen to you. they did and found that your case had no merit. you know why? because it doesn't. i see your support is so strong that you were able to achieve 25% of your desired numbered of petitions. people are seeing through your nonsense.

I just moved to Conroe, TX from Tennessee. Up until this I have been head over heals for the area. I have a 18 month old, a 3 year old and I am due with my 3rd baby in a couple months. The toxic waste dump in Montgomery County would be devastating to our family.

Permitting toxic injection wells so near heavily populated areas and directly under a clean water aquifer that supplies these areas is lunacy.

We here at PDC Safety Training Systems fully support stopping the injection wells from happening in Montgomery County. There are many of us on well systems that are susceptible to toxic run-off. Go get em' CROW! There are just too many unknowns when dealing with injecting toxic waste into old abandoned wells.
# 1,311:
7:35 pm PDT, Aug 9, Art Wilson, Texas
I participated in the contested case hearing as an "affected person". After listening in an objective manner to all the evidence, I, as as engineer, remain convinced that too many unknowns exists to justify disposal of wastes in the old Conroe Oil Field. It takes only one abandoned oil well in contact with the injected waste material to become a conduit for waste to contaminate our aquifers through corroded casing. Injection is proposed in the Cockfield Formation, which was the producing formation. Approving permits for TexCom is not worth the risk of contaminating our drinking water. Please stand with the residents of Montgomery County, Montgomery County officials, the City of Conroe, The Woodlands, and Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District in opposition to TexCom permits for Class 1 injection wells.
