A cub being mauled in the illegal

Help Stop Bear Baiting in Pakistan

Target:
Put an end to this horrible "sport"
Sponsored by:
By signing this petition, you'll be helping to put an end to this horrific "sport" which is now officially illegal in Pakistan.

What's the description of this "sport"?

A defenseless and frightened cub is pulled out into a ring.  He is tied down as dogs are goaded to maul him.  He's defenseless because as a cub he suffered the trauma of having his teeth being pulled out.  He has only his weight in his favor, but that is no protection against the tearing jaws of up to six fresh pairs of dogs at each event. After each fight, he is left untended under the scorching sun. He overheats in his thick winter coat, adding to his misery and sapping his strength.  Between events, his life is spent tethered on the short chain through his nose, so every movement hurts his sensitive nostrils. He could be chronically ill because his poor diet lacks the nutrients his injured body needs to heal. The victims of bear baiting suffer terribly. Bears are always injured, while dogs can be maimed or crushed as the bear fights for his life.

In Pakistan, this sport is officially illegal, as is capturing bears and keeping them.  Please sign this petition to help save these innocent animals who deserve better than this torture!  I speak for the dogs that are put in danger as well.  This is just sickening, and it has to stop.

Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan,
In time when our nation is so badly looked upon as brutes and bullies, peace would bring back our good name.  Animal Sanctuary for bears who have been victims of such cruel acts as bear baiting would be the first step.  We ask you to reconsider the "sport" of Bear Baiting portrayed in your country, in the province of Sindh, among many others.  Please understand that this is terribly unfair to these amazing animals who are being hurt, without knowing what is going on and why they are being treated this way.  These animals are so fascinating and so beautiful, so innocent, and are not meant to be treated like bait.  We ask you to please stop this act, this sport.  Animal's lives are not a game - and both of these magnificent creature's lives are being put in danger.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Please put a stop to this inhumane torture of these bears! This is absolutely unnecessary and cruel and it is reducing the bear population which is already endangered. How can we as human beings (with the power to make a differnce) sleep at night if we do not do all we can to stop this inhumane atrocity? Please help them.

I had tears in my eyes when I was reading about this cruel, disgusting practice. This barbaric "sport" needs to end, & it needs to end NOW. I am absolutely stunned that such practices are allowed to continue in this day & age, especially considering all we know about animal sentience & intelligence. Let's work together to end this sickening "sport" & make this world a better place for everyone -- people & animals alike.

Bears, dogs, any animal is God's creature and creation. These people will be judge on their actions and will burn in hell. I hope the entrance to hell is filled with all the poor, helpless bears that they harmed. What a field day that would be!!!

This is an even more horrid type of dogs fighting! If they need so badly a bloody sport, why dont they just watch professional human fights? There is wrestling, box, various types of martial arts, not to mention those "illegal" fighting pits for mans.
