STRICTER CHILD ABUSE LAWS

Target:
To enforce children's rights to a safe, healthy, happy life.
Sponsored by:
After much research on child abuse cases, I'm extremely sickened by the slap on the wrist too many offenders get as punishment. Check out the cases of Peter Connelly, Kaleb Lay and Brianna Lopez. Sorry to say, there are caseworkers and judges that act in a very heedless way.  They should open their eyes to the simple fact that reuniting families isn't always the best solution. The sad story on baby Peter is from the U.K.. I question their concerns over child protection just as I do children's protection in our country.
Where, oh where is the government?  Can you believe the audacity of lawmakers?  So many in our society are quick to look away and pretend it doesn't happen...this doesn't say much for our society.  Although I'm aware that we do have lawmakers that  feel as strongly about this problem...strict sentences should be mandatory for any that abuse children. I'm not talking discipline, I'm talking about actual child abuses. All three children I mentioned died as a result of child abuse. So...the courts had no doubt in the scum who willingly did this...so...why did they not receive the death penalty?
Maybe, with enough names, we can persuade the government to never let the abusers have their children back...including meth addicts that are supposedly okay now. I see I've only got 34 signatures...how much more do I have to add to persuade people that we do, indeed, have a problem on our hands?
This very worthy petition is now up to 44. Thanks and God bless to all who have signed so far. A special thanks to Stephanie Lytton...my heart goes out to you and your son, Evan Tucker Lytton-McFalls. I have no words to offer comfort, other than I hope you can find the strength to carry on. Stephanie, I can't begin to imagine, nor would I try, the emptiness you must be feeling right now. You have to endure the worse thing a parent could ever go through...you are in my thoughts!!!
Ever notice that the problem with the dreadfully growing child abuse cases is not making the ones in Congress pull their hair out? Is this not a disheartening reality? While some are concerned over other countries not having religious freedom and so on, the others are twiddling their thumbs looking just as important as the others who are deadset on helping the other countries. We should first fix our own country. After all, the U.S. and the U.N. are not the same.
We're up to 65 beautiful signatures. Again, God bless you all!  A big p.s....start writing to your senators about your intolerance on the child abusers' easy treatment. It might do some good if they feel their jobs are on the line.

I FEEL THE JUSTICE SYSTEM HAS FAILED OUR CHILDREN MISERBLY, THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY CHILD ABUSERS, PEDOPHILES, SEX TRAFFICKERS GETTING OFF WITH LITTLE TO NO PUNISHMENT WHAT SO EVER. THE LAWS ON THE HAVE GOT TO BE STRICTER. ASK YOURSELF HOW YOU WOULD FEEL TO FIND YOUR CHILD THROWN INTO THE WOODS IN A REVENE RAPED AND MURDERED. WELL BECAUSE OUR SYSTEM IS FAILING THESE KIDS WE JUST PULLED YET ANOTHER 5 YR OLD KID FROM A REVENE WHO HAD BEEN SOLD INTO HUMAN TRAFFICKING. I MYSELF WILL NOT REST UNTIL YOU CHANGE THIS LAW, I WILL NOT GO AWAY. WE ELECT YOU PPL TO LOOK AFTER OUR WELL BEING SO I THOUGHT AND YET YOU HAVE DONE VERY LITTLE TO NOTHING WHILE YOU ARE IN OFFICES. IT MUST STOP NOW. TOUGHER SENTENCES FOR CHILD ABUSE, CHILD SEX TRAFFICKING, CHILD RAPE, ETC. BE THE ADULT AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO PROTECT THE KIDS.

there really does need to be an across the board ruling for this kind of behaviour there is NO excuse for it and the judges and authorites need to act in a way to show this how can a child defend itself when its already dead?

THIS IS A HORRIBLE PROBLEM THAT CHILDREN SUFFER EVERYDAY...THAY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE PUT THRO THIS..THEY DID NOT ASK TO BE HERE..WE AS PARENTS CHOSE TO PLAY...SO THERFORE WE HAD THE CHILDREN....TIME AND TIME AGAIN THE "SYSTEM" PUTS THESE SWEET ANGELS, BACK IN THE HAND OF THE ABUSER....THIS HAS TO STOP.

There are no excuses for abusing a child in any way, shape or form. Remove any chance or opportunity to be near a child in the future. Potential abusers need to know there are clear cut laws and no easy out. Thanks for the opportunity to sign a petition.

People who get caught with drugs or from stealing get a tougher sentence than these sick and demented child abusers, the scum of society. When will our children be totally protected? WHEN??? Put these offenders away forever! They do not deserve freedom! They take a childs life, destroy their trust, vanish their confidence, overpower them with shame & guilt, which causes them to go down the road of hell, only few truly recover....Stop this madness, PROTECT OUR CHILDREN!!!!

Every child matters. And any adult who abuses or stands by saying nothing should be punished!

I think that it is immorally disgusting that these pigs get treated as human beings. Did they treat the children they did this to as such. HELL NO!!! There is NO cure for them. They are treated better and get less time then people that refuse to pay taxes or assault a police office. Now those are harsh criminal offenses. Not saying that either should be done, but when you harm a child in a way that they do.....THEIR life should end right then and there. An eye for an eye. And believe me I do have ideas that I won't mention what should be done to them before they are put to their death. Same sentence should hold true for crimes against the elderly, as neither a child nor an elderly person can fend off their attackers.

It is time for change. We need to think about our children. Children are God's greatest gift and deserve love and protection. I do not feel that the sick individuals who harm innocent babies deserve second chances. We need to stand up and be the voice for the young victims who can not speak for themselves. I was in shock that the punishments for such an evil crime can be so light. In some cases, if only the law was strict enough at the first sign of abuse or neglect, lives could have been saved. No one deserves to go through abuse or neglect in any way, especially children.

My 14 month old little boy was a victim of SBS at the hands of my former boyfriend. He was charged with 2nd degree murder but only sentenced to 20 years in prison.... it isnt enough, there needs to be more awareness and a more severe puishment to the people who commit these types of crimes.

When I read the story of Peter Connelly? My heart was broken...and my spirit also...this story haunted me for days...I have never been so appalled as I have concerning this case...Am I to believe that we are a "civilized" society yet we allow these gross injustices to occur? Pathetic and sick...Dear God please help us help those who cannot help themselves....

I love children and seeing them hurt, hurts me. I feel if the parents abuse their childrn then take the child(ren) away for ever. It's deffenetly not right for somebody to slap, hit, kick, scream, punch,or say words of hated to a child. The only reason abusers use abuse is because the abuser(s)are inscurer and blam their kids for their mistakes, or feelings. Inclosing I say that we need to stricken child abuse laws and punishments worldwide.
