Support addition of wetlands at Seneca Army Depot!

Support addition of wetlands at Seneca Army Depot!

Target:
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation
Sponsored by:
Please voice your support for the wildlife and habitat at Seneca Army Depot!

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is proposing the addition of 2,100 acres of wetlands, most of which are within the Seneca Army Depot.

The addition of 2,100 additional acres as wetlands will ensure that the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will be able to perform a thorough and comprehensive environmental review to adequately protect the wetlands and wildlife at the depot. The depot is home to the world's largest herd of white (not albino) white-tail deer. This is especially needed in light of the proposal to offer fee hunting of the white deer herd and other wildlife at the depot.

Comments to the DEC MUST be received DIRECTLY by 11:59 Pm February 15, 2008!  Thank you for signing the petition AND contacting the DEC!

I feel the addition of the proposed wetlands is a vital step toward protecting the wildlife of that area. I'm glad to see this petition. Wetlands are greatly needed as we saw around New Orleans where so many had been removed before Katrina. Having a place for the animals, insects, reptiles, birds and other critters is extremely important.

I also support this petition to protect and rehabilitate as needed, the wetlands and the animals that make it their home. They are innocent and need our protection!
