Support APS of Person County

Dear Person County Board of Commissioners, Chairman of the Board, & County Manager,

We the undersigend are writing to you to share this petition that expresses our concerns and support for the Contract APS has with the County. It is our belief that the contract is a valid effort to save the animals that the shelter "deems unadoptable". To amend this contract in any way will defer our efforts to help those animals that are in need of a second chance at being placed in a good loving home. We acknowledge the County Shelter does not have the resources,  funds, nor the time  needed  to rehabilitate these special needs animals. As a non-profit 501c3 organization who has the experience, resources, and funds through our fund raising campaigns, we ask that you allow us to continue to do the great work we are doing for the community, animals, and the County Government. This effort to save these "deemed unadoptable" animals not only offers a very valued service to the community, but also saves the county money that would otherwise result in costly euthanasia. You will notice some petition signers are also from different states which will support the wide vast of networking we do with other rescues groups. We are one big family united together and work competently to save the animals in need. This sincere geniune effort form APS of Person County reflects the positive influence we bring to the community and surrounding areas. Please do not hinder our position to serve the community. We stand by our accomplishments and goals of saving these animals. Our programs works, and our adoption rate of 94% of animals rescued in 2008 have been placed in to approved forever homes will support that we are qualifed animal rescuers that does not put the citizens at risk, but give the citizens one of the greatest gifts of animal companionship.
